I enjoyed the Paul McGann film; I know a lot of people didn't, but it was good to see Sylvester McCoy finally get to regenerate, and it wasn't too bad.
I was thrilled when I learned that it was coming back with Christopher Eccleston, and yes, there have been good and bad stories since then, but there were good and bad stories since it started with William Hartnell too; but I enjoyed it and slowly warmed to each Doctor in turn (just like I did in the old days).
But when I watched the 2003 Christmas Special "The Giggle" and cringed my way through the end as the regeneration took place I knew that, for me, it was over.
