 | Thanks vtwin88cube! Do you happen to know which version of Harmy's Despecialized Edition these are? I have version 2.5 on Episodes 4 and 6, and version 2.0 on Episode 5. Will definitely download this if I can update any of them to a newer release. I think the latest is version 2.7. |

 | the original remasters had been and still are available on DVD albiet used ...they came with the modern version as a special edition, why has nobody uploaded those ones ? Either way thank you very much  |

| As the other poster said, they were 'remasters' for laserdisc that were transferred directly to the DVD release. I remember at the time one of the complaints were that they weren't even anamorphic |

| I had ripped the OT 2006 bonus discs to my Plex server and i did my best to remove ghosting & aspect ratio correcting. The ghosting was from the laserdisc transfer which they didn't correct for in the telecine process so of course they left that in on purpose. The bonus discs were 480i 29.97fps. |

| I have the original trilogy on Laser Disc. Why would anyone go to the lengths to remove/edit/alter the redux from Lucas in the late 90's and instead not just rip a copy from the Laser Disc? Appreciate it's not 1080, but it's DVD quality which was far superior to VHS of the day and retains the format and feel of the production. |

 | Just like "Guest-8522", I remember waiting in line-ups to see these movies at the Theatre! I never really got into the later movies, but these 3 movies hold a special place in my (fading) memory. | I found this very confusing... I watched two of them so far, and it's been probably 2 decades since saw the original (Theatrical release), and I recall a scene that were highly discussed when Lucas' ILM & Co. remastered the trilogy, and that was the scene where Han encountered Jabba the hut, and he was human(oid), not the blob (I could be mistaken and that could've been just a missing scene that they reused but with CGI) where Han walks behind Jabba and stepping over something, which in the CGI'd version was made to look as he was arrogantly stepping on his tail,
Also, there are a few scenes, one that I'm pretty sure I remember in ep. V, (actually paused now to go check here) just as they've infiltrated Jabba's nest/fort/lair, an overview is shown of this complex with two setting suns, with desert in the surrounding.
On the left hand side you can see an sort of frog-like animal observing a smaller animal moving towards him, which he then grabs with his tongue and eats it. I'm fairly sure this isn't in the original. The animation of the creature is actually difficult to tell if it's stop motion or not, but the dust cloud and falling debris is clearly CGI. 
Also, I fail to see the point with different versions of these like mentioned above. Are we meant to collect these and be left wondering which of these we want to watch, and possibly favor one over the other..?
Ok if it's a radical edit, but it shouldn't be done it such a way that it alters the story line. If so, it should be called fan-edit in that case. |

 | The original concept for jabba was for him/her/it to resemble to some degree a wookie, and was portrayed by the actor Declan Mulholland. But alas the scenes ended up on the cutting room floor............. The rest as they say is history |
