I really wish they would go back to only linking GalaxyRG 720Ps in the sidebar... |
I didnt mind. If a movie is only available in 720p I will pass and wait for a large file. Its 2025 not 1999 try dowloading large files. If possible I will only grab 2160p and the largest file size...I want the best quality. |
I'm 60 and can't see any difference between 720 & 4K on my 4K tv. Hard drives are expensive for people on Disability pensions. My storage is over 200TB right now and I'll have to buy more very soon. Why waste space on huge files for no benefit? |
Are your eyes bad or is your 4K TV really small? On 75inch, you can tell 4k vs 1080p, although good quality (high bitrate) 1080p still a superb picture. Big diff in storage size. 720p is a big dropoff in quality for large tvs. |
Absolutely agree with dracman! Get the best possible release, watch, delete ... Should You feel like watching the movie again in some time, You'll find it somewhere, always. |
My sis bought a cheap 4K tv and it doesnt look very good, kinda shyte. I bought my mom and me totl sammmys, the pic looks stellar. Ya on my 75" you can totally see the difference between 720p smalls and 4k large files. I dont save movies unless they are blu ray rips 40GB or more. I usually watch and then delete |
I agree. They don't take up near as much space and seem to be better quality files |
The human eye can't tell the difference between 1080 & 4k, unless you're sitting 3 or less feet away from your screen & have perfect eyesight (research it). So while the marketers keep pushing the "k's" up to 100,000,000k & beyond, just save your money because it's not going to get better than 1080 for normal people. |
the perceivable detail between 1080p and 4k does relate to distance as past a certain point (and also on your vision), they are (virtually) equal in detail BUT that distance absolutely relies on the size of the viewing screen. the larger, the farther away you see that 4k detail. ~ 6-8' for a 65" tv. |
computer monitors are generally viewed a lot closer than tvs, so the 4k,2k to 1080p difference is a lot more noticeable and higher than 1080p makes more sense for much smaller screens. so, as long as you buy the right size 4k tv for your viewing distance, all is good. it all depends on your needs and situation really. |
I run a plex server for home and select friends, my base res file is 1080p, for storage and friend streaming (to keep resource overhead low), I also usually nab 4k versions for first watch then decide to store or delete that 4k depending on the show or film's visual quality. 1080p is just fine for most rewatches IMO. |
why does what res matter that they link to when they have the "Similar torrents" section with the other releases in other res's and release groups where you can directly click on the torrent or magnet link to it without leaving the page? and also the "imdb torrent search" button that gives a full title search? |
What a waste visiting this comments page....I'm not interested in debating the pros and cons of file size and bitrate when I came here for some information on the movie!! The title of this movie is an accurate reflection of the plot, characters and dialogue! Don't waste your time it is just sentimental rubbish, and time for both leads to retire... Thanks for the upload though... |
Agree. What a waste of time. How this movie is nominated for Golden Globes IDK . |
Why are so many cretins copmplaining about file size? Go the the Cinema and pay to watch it if your so picky about an illegal download. My download was over 6gb and is excellent copy, you donty need any better. These people here supply a service and some have the cheak to complain and want more or less... Yom |
Excellent movie, great acting, witty, funny and sad. Should be up for some awards. Nice to see a well made quality movie. Yom |
The people that argue against 4K are either sitting too far away or their TV is too small or they bought the cheapest 4K TV availble or they are simply rocking old stuff. When these flat earthers step up to real 4K they will be amazed. |
My wife insists on hiding our TV & electronics away in a cabinet in the corner of the sitting room. We had the cabinet handmade to fit a nice Beovision 55" TV. Nice -- at the time. Now I want something bigger and higher res', and I'm fighting to have the sitting room renovated... again |
If you dont sit that far away, a 65" may be large enough. Ya its all money. The first time I saw a 4K blu ray on an oled 4K tv, I was blown away. However with oled burn-in can be a real. If you have the bucks, I always say get totl Samsung 4K Qled. Nobody needs to worry about 8K for years yet. |
I'm 7' away from a 55" Philips 4K television. There is no discernible difference between 1080 and 4K and not enough between 720 & 4K to make 4K filesizes worthwhile. It's higher bitrate that you can actually see make a difference, not higher resolution beyond what your eye is capable of. |
@G1627 You probably should have gone with a 65" and the TV you bought is of very low quality...it isnt a totl Samsung thats for sure. Thats why you cant see the difference...maybe next time |
My data is unlimited so if you are happy with 700mb files thats great, I will stick to the 20GB or whatever |
I bought a TCL Roku 65" HDR 4k TV on sale for $400 and even with my old man coke bottled eyesight at about 6-7', I can easily tell the difference between 1080p and 4k in both PC games and film/tv media.. even more so when I get the higher bitrate files, as that ALSO increases viewing quality along with pixel density.. |
Another vote here for the highest available bit rates, resolution and lossless audio. Ideally, everything would be available in 4K with Atmos/DTS-X and HDR (which makes a HUGE difference). |
I routinely download multiple copies for different devices... 4K for my monitor -- which I usually delete after watching; 1080P for a 55" Bang & Olufsen TV; 720P for in-car entertainment if we're on a long drive. I like to have the choice, but in all of that, audio becomes VERY important. |
