Director:John Woo, I'm in! Thank you TG, Trailer looks good! Nice bit of action after Long Legs tonight |
Me too, but would like a x265 10bit encode, will wait a couple of hours to see if one gets uploaded. John Woo's are usually very good, plus I like Sam Worthington |
I say Who's on first, What's on second, I Don't Know's on third... |
John Woo's on first? Woos on second. Third base! |
Lame & Ghey. Butt ugly middle aged girl boss assassin with a bunch of hyper effeminate beta male frenchmen. Apparently John Woo has completely run out of testosterone in his old age, should probably switch to rom-coms. |
Jodie Comer would be another good one(Killing Eve/Free Guy). Nothing against Nathalie but she doesn't scream harden elite veteran assassin to me. |
I would have preferred a more believable actor in the role. Obviously, a man would have been a better choice. However, it hardly matters, this movie is surprisingly boring. I'm disappointed that something Woo and Helgaland are involved in is so dull. That, and the DEI casting, kills The Killer. |
I would not have preferred a more unbelievable white man actor in the role. Obviously, a man as lead would have made it just another same old white guy trope and not a better choice. That, and the white guy casting would put me to sleep. Im not disappointed. |
@3449 - You introduced the question of being white, not Brrzrrkrr. It's a fact that casting men as soldiers and killers makes for greater realism because a woman who consistently and easily defeats trained men in hand to hand combat is as realistic as a movie about a 5'6" man being the top scoring player in the NBA. |
@FauxGojira Almost ALL action movies are completely unrealistic, dude. Real action doesn't look good on screen; it's often over too quick. We make movies for entertainment, not realism. And I'll bet you have never once complained about Bruce Willis doing flips over airplanes while shooting an AK. |
All movies require the suspension of disbelief. However, a male action star requires LESS suspension of disbelief than a skinny, weak woman portraying the same role. It is better to create minimal friction between the audience and the story, allowing for greater engagement. Guest-3449, your Woke racism is moot. |
Guest1447 hits it on the nose. All action movies are sooo believable, right bzkir and foeg's? Bahahaha. Your just so used to seeing ANY white male be a superhero, ur lil brain can't compute anything more. "less believable" Like Lethal weapon movies? Or Nic Cage taking on ANYONE? Or even some regular 5 11" guy? |
Guest-4166, you're really obsessed with people's skin color. Do you ever take a break from being a racist ? |
"Never send boys to do a woman's job". Thanks, that was brilliant. Easily John Woo's best American film since Face/Off. |
The girl from Hollyoaks, this should be good, she was amazing in Auther the King and Game of Thrones. Is this the one with Michael Fassbender in? |
I think i saw the original which I borrowed from someone a VHS seemed to be a remake of an Alain Delon film called Le Samouraï which was the inspiration of John Wick. Though may go for the 8GB one with atmos. |
Thanks TG, that was the second good movie set in Paris this month, the other one was 'Under Paris' especially entertaining if you have soft spot for man-eating fish ! |
