| so, the original is an important film for me. a lot of Hong Kong action films from that time are. so, what the hell was this going to be? the action scene where the singer gets blinded (not a spoiler, it's the premise of the film).... it's superb. and the film in it's entirely justifies itself. and it was then, seriously, that i realised that most of the crap written here is by people who don't even bother to watch the film. they have a narrative they want to push and that is all they care about. watch it for yourself. it's John Woo finally back to doing what he does. and i freaking love that. |
