I'm shocked the white guys wasn't a tyranny, to to tick all of the boxes. |
Short review: realistic, low-key, well acted, and a tear jerker (but not in a melodramatic way). Long review: I went into this looking for a solid love story/drama about a divorce and custody fight over a child. And that's what was delivered. But what sets it apart is the realism of story as well as editing and directing: you feel like you're really watching simply an everyday couple, in everyday settings, going through this. The low budget works wonderfully here: over production and flashy, big, dramatic scenes would ruin the sheer realism that makes this story stand out, and work so well, in contrast to other overblown divorce/custody battle films. Also there's no overdone cultural/political messages here (as there are in similar movies); the movie simply portrays, again, a realistic story happening to real people without social commentary. And this sheer normalcy of the characters and events says more than any preachiness, no matter how well intended, can. Really impressed here. And also, I know I've seen Evans in other things, but he's always been kind of wooden; here he does a good job. And I barely know who Porter is, but I was impressed: he's the better actor in this. Supporting cast did a great job of, again, portraying normal people, so they stayed in the background to help flesh out the main characters but not distract from the main thrust of the story. My only real criticism is that the child's point of view was somewhat neglected. We don't see his inner turmoil and later acceptance developed much. The story focuses on the two parents, but I'm sure this was the main intent. 8/10 and of course thanks for the share! (I watched the 265 10bit version and audio and video are both 10/10). |
If it wasn't for this being a movie we would be calling social services |
Feels like the time around 2012 when the Alien movies where around preparing us being eradicated or enslaved now they are preparing us for our kids to go in the school with their classmates being adopted legally by gay parents some of them would be pretty hefty rich to indulge themselves almost experimental for the society to see if it crumbles with the woke tsunami it won't go away without any deep scars left on the society . |
What do you think society is? Lgbtqia+ are part of your society as well, always were and always will be. Got problems with "woke"? Woke is necessary to educate people like you who don't accept a society that is not a collections of clones of you. Black people exist, Lgbtqia+ exist. Get used to us. |
Woke is a perverse religion. It divides groups between oppressed and oppressor, and minorities (EXCEPT Jews) are always the oppressed, regardless of the facts. Those who practice Wokeism are inherently immoral, interested in virtue signalling but never being virtuous, or accepting of DIVERSE opinions. |
Woke is not a religion. Woke does not divide people, it shows the division there already is, by highlighting the discrimination that goes with oppression, the false arguments, such as "not accepting diverse opinions". Where is your acceptance, Brrzrrkrr? Where are your uniting arguments, where are your facts? |
Woke is not political, it's awareness. You are obviously not aware of the meaning of the word. Anyone can be aware of social injustice, of discrimination and oppression, left or right, conservative or liberal. |
The term "Cultural Marxism" refers to a far-right antisemitic conspiracy theory that misrepresents the Frankfurt School as being responsible for modern progressive movements, identity politics, and political correctness. Look it up. It doesn't even exist, Guest-4889, so how can "woke" be its political wing? |
Woke, progressives, leftists, DEI, identity politics et al... The radical left don't want to be categorized or pinned down. They underhandedly advance their agendas through socials media. They are a religion/cult, a mind virus. Read Lindsay & Pluckrose to learn more about the harms they are doing. |

@Guest-3542 - You're mistakenly or dishonestly conflating the CONSPIRACY theory about the intent of Cultural Marxism with the theory of Cultural Marxism ITSELF. 'Cultural Marxism' is synonymous with the neo-Marxist Frankfurt School's philosophy of the critical theories of culture. It's real. The conspiracy isn't. |
I don't need to be told this movie SUCKS just from that poster! Who even thought this was a good idea? What a waste of money! |
Fighting over who gets to continue to diddle the kid. What a strange movie for them to put out during the holidays. |
The 2 groomers on the cover that are fighting over the grooming rights of the child makes me sick |
You do realise, I hope, that the use of the word "grooming" only shows your prejudices and says nothing about the theme of the movie or the people portrayed in it? |
No, it's not. Your filthy thoughts are about "groomers", not the movie. The movie is about a family. |
ummm...2 gay men and a little boy ARE NOT a family. The 2 gays on the cover are groomers and the innocent child will only be harmed by the groomers...that is sick |
Two parents and a child ARE a family. Quit your sick assumptions. |
Its no aasumption, the 2 groomers on the front ARE NOT real parents...they are real groomers. So these couple of puffs get divorced and then they get remarried. So the innocent child will then have 4 puff daddies?? That is fn crazy. The poor child will grow up confused and be ready to get reamed out when older...sick |
Cut it out. You can't say people are "groomers" when you don't know the movie and don't know what the hell you're talking about. You see a poster and you have all kinds of prejudices based on one single photo. That's called "assumptions". Get a life dude. |
The little boy says to his 2 puff groomer daddies have you guys seen my gerbil???? |
Cool name brother, I assume you're right. Looks a little sus to me, society is trying to tell us that single moms and 2 dads is the norm. Have a merry Christmas gonna skip over this liberal agenda lol. |
Come on bro, Luke Evans went from a bad Arse Vampire too this stuff. This movie at most will definitely lose money. |
The movie looks so good. Possibly an academy award for this! |
Insecure? What's secure about two grown ass gay men raising a child? |
Ignore the Woke. They have no arguments, and no reason. They attack anyone who dislikes their agenda, with an eye towards mobbing and censorship. If you don't use their framing you're 'racist' or a 'bigot'. They're also taught to virtue signal as opposed to ever being virtuous. |
