As someone who thoroughly enjoyed "The Honorable Woman" and "The Last Panthers", I find this series boring and outdated. The plot offers nothing that Michael Mann's "Blackhat" didn't already cover back in 2015. The war in Syria and "techno terrorism" just doesn't have the relevancy or urgency it did a decade ago. The political banter in between is just grating, giving the felling that the script really was written a decade ago. Vinny Cassell was the big draw for me, but he looks tired and uninvested in this performance. Eva Green, as always, will kiss, suck and swallow anything she's paid to, and it's never not gross and off-putting. Really, she's gross! Overall, "Liaison" comes across as another forgettable effort in a sea of disposable content in the ongoing "arms race" of streaming services.
