Data is the new bacon. It has become the new prized commodity. Fortunes are being made through the sale of personal data, a theme explored in the lackluster movie "Control". The story begins with a prime minister reassuring the public on data privacy, only to quickly shift to a chilling scene: the prime minister's wife and daughter become vulnerable to Kevin Spacey's detached and understated voice, having hijacked their car through stolen data. Privacy assurances crumble as Spacey exacts revenge for various grievances. However, the execution falters: Spacey's voice lacks menace, sounding more like a petulant child asserting dominance, while the lead actress fails to convincingly portray shock, coming across as somewhat grating. The film struggles to sustain suspense and falls short on substance. There are comical edges to this "thriller" but they more lame chuckles . For a more compelling exploration of autonomous vehicles and control mixed with humor, consider the TV series "The X-Files" episode "Rm9sbG93ZXJz" (Season 11, episode 8). |
we don't want you here touching anyone, just send an audio file. |
After having four witnesses killed in a state prosecution against him, that's more than he deserves. Used to be one of the favorite actors. After #MeToo, we know that Pedowood is all the same. They're all the same. |
Yeah, he got black balled after people found out he tried to touch young boys |
Tried? He DID "touch" young-uns! The man is sick! And Hollywood knew it all along! |
I have to play Devil's advocate. Was it young boys? It looked to me like they were legal adults (19 yrs and up) who kept going back so they could further their careers. Some were even ex-military. The big marine looked liked he could take care of himself to me. Has Spacey been convicted of anything? |
kevwil93 your not playing devils advocate. I think that people that defend rapists and pedos do so because it's a way to justify the crime, blame the victim. "Well, he looks 18 to me", wtf? Is there something that these POS defenders relate to them? |
They pretty much all do that in Hollyweird. That and oh so much worse... |
Dude didn't do sh*t. He was completely acquitted, after being the "first" victim in this brigade of woke bs. He spent the majority of the 2010s dealing with this, he was the first case the started it all (right in that area at least), and he was acquitted. |
Kevin Spacey having to resort to voicing a car in a movie with an unknown director and unknown actors is pretty much cancelled. |
Dunno William Daniels made a career out of voicing KITT in the 80s cable Tee Vee series Knight Rider |
Found innocent and acquitted of all allegations\charges? Yes. Completely. |
@guest-2749 Knight Rider aired on NBC. You know, the National Broadcast Company. They are one of the original Non-Cable television broadcasters and are still broadcasting over the air signals today. |
Definitely not Spacey's best performance by a country mile and the lead actress can barely act but not as bad as it could be |
Have watched worse movies than this starring the likes of Liam Neeson |
Kevin Spacey saw the actress and volunteered as voice actor only |
The optics on this are so glaringly bad one has to question the state of mind of all parties involved. If you have been accused of forcefully assaulting people, is it really a good idea to take on a role in a movie where you are forcing someone to do things against their will and as a director is is a good idea to hire said person? I remember hearing rumours of Spacey saying if he got in any serious trouble he was going to release a lot of info on people on Hollywood. He got a petty stand in the corner punishment and one has to wonder given the rumours... |
Of course it is. When you are attempting for some reason to foist a 33 year old as the head of one of the great offices of the British State in what look likes an exceedingly low rent production you need all the help you can get and creating a bit of controversy will no doubt provide better advertising than anything |
Without giving two much away foisting your will onto others without their consent is the whole theme of the movie; it is all about 'control' |
The usual suspects is/was one of my all time greats. That filthy ******* child abuser should never be able to work again at the very least. I know what I'd like to see happen to him... |
