 | When Woke Hollywood runs out of ideas, it remakes the Seven Samurai all over again, with a good enough looking lead female surrounded by a party of supposedly kickass females and/or totally useless males, then sends her on a mission she will succeed in even if she thinks with her feet. Don't get me wrong: I don't hate the characters, I simply loathe the lazy writing. Give me a girlboss movie anytime as long as it's *well written* and *well played*. Boutella suffers from having been handed reductive roles over and over, which doesn't help her growth. This movie won't do much for her because the story is bland, clearly "oriented" and mistakes were 'again) made. For example: a movie with baddies in it is only as good as its baddies are. Put a ridiculous antagonist, individual or collective, and the movie will stink. What are these people who can use wormhole tech to go shopping for groceries and who can't even have a hydroponics facility and space farmers to grow food? Hello? For them, "manure" is probably the name of a strange alien beast from planet Zog. To enjoy SF, you need suspension of disbelief. Here we have suspended animation of the writer's imagination. |

| The agenda is , tick the boxes, to hell with ability or depth, and recycle all the old set materials from the other shows to make the most profit off the least amount of effort. Why fight against A.I. takeover when your products are this manufactured and generic. |

 | Not sure what's worse... another movie where a 120lb girl is beating the snot outta 200lb armoured soldiers, who btw have the same training, or, that it's Space where there is no Earth and no Japan, yet, we have a Japanese girl with a Japanese accent, dressed like a Samurai/Ronin using swords. Don't mind the CGI so much, except there are a lot of scenes where they use CGI to put parts out of focus, and it's hard on the eyes, and in some spots the people out of focus are distorted and stretched. Odd style choice to make. |
