 | Watched it. GREED – it underscores almost every scene in this 3.5 hour movie. It’s sinister and dark. What is captured is the beautiful camera work – vast gorgeous landscapes, beautiful smiles on Gladstone’s face and the slithering of DeNIro’s eye's - all create layers of believably and mistrust. . Dicaprio’s age in this film is the only problem. His role is as a young soldier home from the war, but his face reveals his real age - a 50 year old man. The movie is gritty and there is a constant low level evil running behind what is said and what is actually happening – its wildly affective. The movie is paced well and time is devoted to each character and respecting the culture. One breathtaking scene - a beautiful, owl sweeps into a window, a foreboding. The writing and direction force you to care and engage you. |

| it's a very well-made film. Not crazy about some of the soundtrack choices in the beginning though. The modern music didn't go with the era of the film. It's woke but only because of the subject matter which is horrifying. The US was a hellhole for people of color in our past. There's no way around that. The main actress deserves an Oscar. She was phenomenal. DeNiro hasn't been this good in a movie since Casino imho. Leo i solid but there's some overacting on his part. Not his best performance. It's beautifully shot and deserves all the accolades it gets even though it's clearly Oscar bait. I actually liked it more than the ultra indulgent Oppenheimer tbh |

| Interesting story but what's even more interesting about this film is that it has ZERO tension. I mean none. Everything is so heavily telegraphed, there's no surprising moments. Wasted opportunities. |

| It was easier for US. Without camera phones in everyones hand. We got away with more stunts and pranks. Without cops on every corner with a social justice booklet or a nightstick with blood on it. Before big brother got into the internet. I used IRC relay chat to file transfer, which was the true birth of torrents. |
