| This was actually a massive curveball for me. I went in thinking it would be pretty bad/comedy-wise. I was pleasantly surprised at actually how funny it was and even stayed till the end of the credits watching all the deleted scenes. This film really reminded me of early 00's comedies, which I've missed. |

| Awkwafina is annoying, her voice and one-note delivery are painful to endure. I don't have high hopes for this film, and though I downloaded it, I probably won't get around to watching. |

 | Guest-3826 - I know many will disagree (and that's fine; I can totally see why...in fact I used to be the reverse of my current position until I watched them in more stuff!), but I think Awkwafina and Cena are surprisingly funny/entertaining. They're never going to be the best, but they do well in their own way. |

 | Big surprise! I saw terrible ratings and reviews... but I loved it! It's so damn goofy that it works! Awkwafina and John Cena are perfect in these roles and play well off of each other. It's got plenty of action, most of the jokes land, decent special slightly futuristic effects, and even a bit of pathos thrown in so you care about the characters. It's worth a try if you don't expect anything too cerebral. I laughed out loud several times, which is rare for me. |

 | Every now and then, a movie premieres that feels like it’s straight out of a bar napkin brainstorming session you and your friends had during a late-night hangout. “Jackpot” fits that bill. It’s a breezily violent two-hander screwball comedy that holds your attention with stupid one-liners – that are original - ( “Is that a knife?” “I hope so or this is going to take a while”, “ He’s a marine biologist that works at NASA!”). Despite its childlike and somewhat petulant nature, this movie captivates with its quirky and charming characters. The story is as ridiculous as the setup and largely involves a woman who unwittingly wins a billion dollar jackpot – the catch is – if you kill the jackpot winner you take hold of the winnings. The script is actually engaging and refreshing, a little childish but its child-like star, Awkwafina, steam-rolls through both the frame and the stupid dialogue, She has a natural, magnetic presence and isn't shy about putting herself out there for everyone to enjoy a good laugh. |

| Indeed. The worldbuilding here is unique and hasnt been done before. It's Purge + Hunger Games + Slumdog Millionaire. Awkwafina is perfectly cast. Cena and Simu are being their best Cena and Simu, respectively. If you liked Nora from Queens, this is obligatory watch. If you didn't, why didn't you? |
