Well at least the production quality looks good, BAD reviews on IMDb. Probably getting a bad wrap because of being woke? Well it has enough black bars to fix my SINGLE LINE subs. I'm all in. Thanks Galaxy ... |
Can't even find a trailer for this to see what it's like... well, guess download and see. :D |
You will always find the trailers on youTube. Funny how a so called specialized movie platform like imdb doesn't have half the trailers ain't it. |
even the ones I found, were 360p... not really promoting this series very well at all. Always a bad sign. |
Do not be that guy, with no sense of history. This series is based on the work of Jules Verne (1828–1905). Captain Nemo first appeared in the book Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas . In later work by Verne, he is later described as the son of an Indian raja. |
This series is based on the work of Jules Verne (1828–1905). Captain Nemo first appeared in the book Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas . In later work by Verne, he is later described as the son of an Indian raja. So it is actually correct |
Actually a show based upon Jules Verne's Famed Character, Captain Nemo's Ship, Nautilus. Also, In The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Captain Nemo is played by India's legendary actor, Naseeruddin Shah. More about the series after watching...! |
Based on the book as in 'uses the title'. Loving the book, I knew very soon into the first episode that this was going to annoy me. If you are not familiar with the original story, you may like this, but even Disney have cancelled it. No season 2. |
everything I can find says, yes it was dropped by disney, but it was only meant to be a 10 episode mini series. there wasnt meant to be a season 2 |
Nautilus (2024) [Mini-Series, Action, Adventure, Drama] |
Dropped by Disney can only mean one thing, it wasn't woke enough. I'll add, i go to IMDb to watch the trailer and for the uncountable time, they don't have it, a specialized movie platform and we gotta go to YT, wtf do these people do that work there..prob sip they mokkalaka caramelio latte all day and take selfies. |
Some programmes aren't meant to ground out until they are a husk of what they once were. There ought to be MORE 1 and down mini series like there was in the 80s. |
Are we going to get a repack cause 4 and 5 are in the wrong order and 6 is a copy of 4. Haven't checked episodes 8, 9, or 10. |
I read that AMC/AMC+ was going to pick this up for USA distribution after Disney + dropped it. If they do, then we would have full English subs. Can anyone else verify that. Frustrating to now have all episodes with no dupes with only my rapidly faded high school French to rely upon! Enjoyed what I could of first episode. |
There's not enough French in this to care what they're saying. |
Update: Finally finished the first episode and CowGirl is correct in that there isn't enough French to cause any significant "no subs" issue. However, with my aging hearing I still need Eng. subs to fill in what I frequently miss. Hopefully they will show up soon. Based on that first episode, it looks like a good romp |
AMC announced it had acquired the series for broadcast in the United States and Canada in 2024, followed by Amazon Prime Video acquiring in the United Kingdom and Ireland in August 2024 , will probably have a repack soon |
These are the episode titles from Wikipedia, (I google-translated to english) 1. Évasion (Escape) 2. Tic, Tac, Boum (Tick, Tock, Boom) 3. Le Force Du Peuple (The Strength of the People) 4. Sur Une Pente Glissante (The Slippery Slope) 5. Hallucinations 6. L`Atlantide (Atlantis) 7. Guerre Froide (Cold War) 8. Le Point De Bascule (The Tipping Point) 9. La Chevauchée (The Ride) 10. Bouquet Final (Final Bunch) hope this helps... |
Cancelled because mistakes where made at Disney and the people where probably fired. mistake 1: No one has green or blue hair, mistake 2: The Indian prince is actually a real Indian, Mistake 3: No woman took a male's place..Therefor the board of executives has decided to cancel the show. 😆😂 |
Disney took a classic, rich story and turned it into a shallow, disappointing rework. The original tale of Captain Nemo, driven by a complex anti-imperialist ethos and fueled by a deep, personal loss, is reduced to a simplistic narrative where he is portrayed as a slave, building the Nautilus under the thumb of the British East India Company. This change not only dilutes Nemo’s motivations but also strips away the rich historical and philosophical layers that made the original so compelling. The focus of the series has shifted away from the exploration of the ocean’s depths and the wonders of the sea, which were central to Jules Verne’s narrative. Instead, it’s now a revenge-driven drama that pits Nemo against the East India Company, an enemy depicted as the most powerful corporation of its time. This revisionist take skews the story's historical context and diminishes its original grandeur. The show also rushes through character development, introducing tensions and psychological conflicts far too early, which undermines the depth and complexity of the characters. The sense of adventure and discovery that made the original story captivating is largely absent, replaced by a disjointed plot that feels more like a forced drama than an epic journey of exploration. In essence, Disney’s adaptation strips away the essence of Verne’s work, leaving behind a hollow shell of the original story. It’s a missed opportunity to bring a timeless tale to life, opting instead for a misguided attempt to modernize a narrative that was already rich in themes and depth. This might be the worst adaptation of Vernes' wonderful story. |
