Disaster unfolds in Badger, a small farming town in the state of New York when a meteor strike contaminates the air, turning it toxic. People begin to die. Lauren, an astrobiologist, tracked by Homeland security, is called in to find answers for this unearthly event.She reluctantly gets involved in the effort to solve the ensuing crisis. Meanwhile, a gigantic tree, an other-worldly object has grown at the site of the meteorite impact. It becomes apparent, once was speculated to be a meteorite is in fact an experimental seed sent to Earth in their search for a new home. The seed is sent from a dying world, a desperate world in order to grow their trees to create a habitable environment for themselves on Earth and then colonise it.

 | Howdy! Risen combines meteors, alien life forms and zombies (sort of) into an entertaining sci-fi nail-biter, but it seemed to lose direction and momentum toward the end. Still, not too bad for a low budget production. Borrows heavily from similar 'alien contact films', but if you're into science-fiction, you'll probably enjoy this. It's reasonably well acted and held my attention right up until the end. Some of the action scenes were a bit too dark for my taste, but I'm nit-picking. Cut to the chase: if the ending had been stronger, this could have been an excellent alien thriller. Instead, it sort of fizzles out - and ends up being just so-so. Close but no cigar.  | Jaxe making ASSumptions only makes you look bad. As for the movie so far Risen is more than a bit limp. Kentk9 it lost direction right after the opening credits. If one is in to sci fi like myself you will most likely roll your eyes. Appreciation to the uploader though cause I was looking forward to this. So thanks again fore the upload. |
