jesus...its a fantasy film!...get a grip...don't tell me some of you have thrown all your christmas toys out of your prams already?..:-):-) |
Hope the makers of this don't remake Dunkirk or 1917. Imagine all those females on the beaches of Dunkirk 8o or fighting in the trenches 8o Oh look, it's Chloë Grace Moretz going over the wall :D:-@ |
What year of WW2 is this set in? The B-17 was no longer used for Combat missions in the Pacific theater by mid-1943. This movie has men that are chauvinistic and disrespectful toward women and a woman that saves the world on her own. Another movie with an agenda showing how women are better than men. Women flew ferrying missions during World War 2 for the U.S. but they did not fly combat missions. |
The most disturbing aspect of historical revisionist (bullcrap :P ) movies such as this is that millennials will leave their sofa mistakenly believing that there were indeed such a thing as female 8) fighter pilots 8) during World War II 8o and most disturbing of all that Chloë Grace Moretz was one of those female fighter pilots :facepalm :-@:D |
Chloë does bear her teeth 8o if that is enough to tempt you :D:-@ |
:warn POTENTIAL PLOT SPOILERS AHEAD: BE SAFE :warn This isn't no Dunkirk or 1917. So forget about seeing any real planes being blown up. Also forget about a plot - because there isn't one. And what does fly for one (pun intended) is utterly preposterous. As already mentioned by Guest-3958 this is a pure rip-off of the 'Twilight Zone'. The producers have apparently also watched 'The Aeronauts' for 'inspiration' :D The CGI on the Aeronauts is far, far better but at least this movie doesn't burden you with a story-line to follow which some of the less demanding among us may prefer :P There is one, yeah one :D , genuinely hard-pounding scene when Chloe falls from the aircraft, yeah, just like in the Aeronauts :D The monsters are reminiscent of Ray Harryhausen and the 'Sinbad' movies. But obviously improved with modern technology even in this low-budget affair. The monsters are well done and it is quite sad when they meet their demise :-( , especially the last one standing at the end :-( Maybe if they had been tamed they would have made good pets or at least been put in a zoo :D The movie loses pace and slows down for a few smooching scenes before the 'action' picks up again. There are also a few looking at the camera shots when the crew are being 'introduced' at the beginning that can be argued detract from the 'realism'. The chauvinistic banter is so way over the top that you can't take it seriously. As to Ms Johnson's (a nod to Amy Johnson first woman to fly solo from London to Australia) (Chloe's character) backstory she is proven to be a liar so we can't believe any of her tales of dering-do. In keeping with that theme the movie begins with a cartoon about 'Gremlins' aboard aircraft which is quite funny and ends with archive footage of female fighter pilots taking off to fly 'sorties' wearing summer dresses and no helmet. :D And in the end credits we even have a shot of Chloe laughing in the cockpit further emphasising that this movie is not to be taken seriously . This is popcorn entertainment. As said at the beginning don't watch this expecting Dunkirk or 1917... and then complaining :D:-@ It is what it is :D:-@ |
LOL.... I don't even need to watch the movie to be entertained, all I need to do is read the comments. That's entertainment enough. :) |
Regardless of historical inaccuracy, its a fictional story so what is there to be expected? Can women have an action hero role in a silly movie plot without accusations of agenda's being pushed? Anyhow, it has been getting decent reviews; Tomatometer score of 78% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 58 critics reviews. Critics Consensus: Part creature feature, part war movie, and part social commentary, Shadow in the Cloud doesn't always blend its ingredients evenly -- but it's frequently pulpy fun. |
The worse film I have seen. Ever. Crap on a level far below crap. Crap for every reason. Directed and written by a woman - say no more. |
Absolutely garbage - a waste of time! Should have guess when I realized it was only 123 minutes long - the trailer is a spoiler, in fact, its the whole movie summarized! Wish i would have passed... |
Just going by the numbers of ratings, comments and downloads and despite of the sheer panning this flick has taken there is no denying that this is one helluva popular movie. 8)8o You can always spot a popular movie on here :PThe Ogling Curse of Chloë Grace Moretz strikes again. 8o |
The icing on the cake would have been Danny Trejo, Nicolas Cage and Bruce Willis aboard the plane with Chloë 8) Now, that would have been the *perfect* movie :P but not in a good way :D:-@ |
watched it just to ogle MORETZ and struggled to do it. not worth the watch. |
