Do any of you actually watch these things before you comment or is it judging the book by the cover psychosis ? Episode one focuses on our hero "Rick Grimes" waking up after a coma to realize the world isn't the same as before he went under. Then, much like The Last Man On Earth he tries to make sense of what goes on and searches for other people. Episode one. Was good. Looks like a promising series. Hopefully following episodes are interesting. Thanks UPLOADER! |
Agreed. Episode one was indeed pretty good. People who post negativity about something they haven't even watched are pathetic and expose nothing more than their personal prejudices. |
I thought the whole point of the rating is to rate the torrent quality no idea why people rate the shows in here. |
Someone else actually gets that? There are dozens of us! DOZENS! |
It reminded me of all the similar shows that went before such as Arch Obler's "Five" which I managed to find. Roger Corman had a naturalistic one as well but with a s-f spin I think.... no zombie apocalypse, something else. Those shows form the 50's had simple castsd and smaller budgets. |
I have read the novel and its pretty good for apocalyptic type scenario that is more fact based rather than zombie horde types.. Less action but does look at how social structures - roads, man made stuff breaks down over time. How certain animals flourish even.. Anyways looking forward to seeing how the "show" stacks up next to the Novel. - Thanks uploaders |
Just don't follow the book in case something similar happens because you will be dead in the first year. |
Reply to Guest-3844. The Book as written by Mr Stewart was more an extensive research project into how long such things like the Hoover Dam and public utilities, water, electric, roads, and houses would ultimately survive a low maintenance situation. The characters mostly live full lives. This isn't Mad Max. |
So I am gonna DL the book now and see. As someone who worked over 30 years in the electricity generation/distribution industry I am always amazed at "disaster" and SHTF movies where the lights are still on. I will see what 1949 reasoning still might apply today. |
Reply to Mosanator. Well if you look at back where he gives his research credit, he mentions that some stuff especially back then was heavily edited.. To the point we had a saying "Loose lips, sink ships" Basically saying even his best 'research' Wasn't enough. Electricity gets covered pretty good. |
Thank you TGx and all guys behind A/V was fine Keep Up All The Good Upload You Do Sir |
There should EP2 coming today as well! This is a limited serie with 6 episodes total. |
incorrect.. Dec 8, 2024 Source: https://www.tvmaze.com/seasons/147483/earth-abides-season-1/episodes |
Watched pilot episode and found it very dreary and laboriously slow. No action apart from a rattlesnake bite. Dog's appearance cheered up things a wee bit. |
After the very quick apocalypse that was *exceedingly quick & remarkably neat* our hero simply resumes his life with a conveniently placed dog that is also remarkably clean and healthy. Like a budget apocalypse. |
Strikes and gutters. Ups and downs. A lot of what have yous... |
Trailer looked okay so I'll try the pilot episode and see how it goes. Thanks for the upload. |
I think Stacey Abrams was one of the survivors and ate them all. |
The book this was based on was written in 1949, and the show is pretty close to the source material. Try harder |
