this movie i enjoyed with 2 beer , some like 5gm weed also cried a lil bit , wasted |
I'm of Indian descent and even so I would not enjoy this flick. I'm not racist in the least but I don't like politics and agendas being forced upon me when all I want is to be distracted and otherwise entertained. Furthermore, ask a dark-skinned person of color, I continue to find it offensive that hollywood and bollywood mostly promotes only light-skinned asian/indian people of color and relegates us to roles like comic relief and/or baddie. As with most agendas nowadays, there is always some underpinning injustice that (for most) needs to be addressed. The problem is that the "woke" mob and the radical left have gone too far in their efforts to compensate. It's not as though Hollywood doesn't know about colorism because they do, all I am saying is that why not let that progressiveness extend to the asian/indian demographic. Also as an aside, I would just like to say that not every Indian (myself included) wants a white girl or for that matter, wants to emigrate or otherwise live in the US. |
Plus Skyler Samuels is genuinely talented but she gets terrible roles because she refuses to wave the rainbow flag |
Exactly. There is nothing wrong with the skin colour but forcing some agenda on the movies/tv shows is very annoying. |
Im not sure you understand what the meaning of the word forced is. Not surprising though. |
I appreciate your message, but I believe the choice to feature lighter skin tones is not something Hollywood prefers. Usually when they use the word representation, what they mean is misrepresenting black Americans far beyond their real world 13.7%. In India the color of your skin is much more important than in the |
USA, which is NOT systemically racist. The very large Indian audience for streaming prefers lighter colored skin. It is connected to the long existent caste system. Peacock is happy to offend white males and Jews, as they are the enemies of the Woke, but they don't want to alienate their Indian viewers. |
Typical, a guy leaves a honest comment complaining about racism and the resident racist trolls downvote immediately. |
@satoshi21 Of course I know the meaning of it. There is a movie out, Good plot, good characters but it's a mismatch. Far from the actual reality. Main character is an Indian guy. He's good looking, so the female character but how many couples relationships have you seen like them? 1 in million? |
@satoshi21 Yet they decide to go for the production with that and made the movie less realistic and I have to watch it as it is now because maybe I liked the story etc but I have to digest their woke agenda.Like on any Disney products. Movies tv shows are good.Enjoyable products but the main characters have to be opste |
i enjoyed the movie.. i went in expecting it to be poorly made.. and it was... but still enjoyable. the connection between the two main leads wasn't really there.. it was at the start, just not as the movie unfolded.. i'd say bad direction there.. I know its hallmark, but i'm pretty sure a 13year kid could have directed better than this movie was. i didn't think it was 'woke' at all.. yes there was an indian and an asian in the movie.. matter of fact, i saw some on the way to work today.. not woke at all.. what i consider 'woke agendas' being crammed down our throats is watching the Quantam Leap reboot. man that was terrible.. |
So Hollywood's promoting stalkers now? Or is it gold diggers? |
so no one figured out what is really happening behind this sh*t? willing bet this comment will never be allowed to appear..... |
Why is it lately that many movie covers/front pictures on here all look Indian. they are going cheap on covers this year. |
I gave up and lost interest after reading the first long long paragraph of a 1000 words plot! |
Thank you for letting us know another one you re not going to watch |
