really enjoyed watching this when i was a kid. thanks for the post, will be a fun trip down memory lane... |
80s movies were politically incorrect, offensive, in one word they were "Unwoked", but we didn´t pay attention to those details or we didn´t care. Blacks, Whites, Asian, Latinos, Heterosexuals, Gays, Transexuals, we all went to the movie theater just to have fun and laughted loud for 2 hours and forget any problems we had at home, school, work, etc. , sometimes we even watched the movie again in the same day. |
Yes I used to laugh at Richard Pryor's and Eddie Murphy's stand up comedy shows making fun of everyone regardless of race, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, age. |
I was a kid in the 80's and remember my (mostly white) friends and I watching movies like this on cable and being offended by the casual bigotry and sexism. Sure, we still watched it for the actually funny stuff, but that lazy comedy has always been for vulgar, morally/intellectually inferior, people. |
Maybe spanning over decades these were merely the ground-laying warmups and now that the former young generation has grown older a more sophisticated societal transformation may continue? |
Thanks! One of the Best Comedies ever! I wish they would make movies like the 80s again. |
Kim Cattral was quite a yummy dish in this movie. She was barely 27 when it was filmed. Police Academy was also the first theatrical movie she was in that she was the lead female role. |
I hope this perfect movie never gets remade as it would inevitably get retooled for modern audiences. Modern audiences can go f@ck themselves. |
🍺👍 A-10 V-10 Thanks for the x265 encode! Loved this film. It's an "oldie but goodie" |
Most were straight-to-cable. At one point after a surgery in my 20's (long story), I watched them all on DVD (co-worker brought them over) while I recovered. I also used to watch them as a kid when I was sick home from school. That's about all they are good for. None of these are classics or liked much back when. |
All seven were released in theatres. None went direct-to-video, not even the last one, the infamous Mission to Moscow. |
Is it dubbed in Japanese? I can't stand jokes I don't understand and my english is not so good looking. |
Read the Media information posted above. Also, dubbed comedies don´t have the same meaning. You need good English to understand these jokes. Even foreign subtitles don´t say the same dialog. So, you will not understand these jokes without proper English. |
Sorry folks, that was a joke with reference to the Godzilla comments the other day. Didn't work, I get it, so...Have a nice day. |
