I finally got around to watching Argylle (Barfgylle) this was ab.solutely stupid. I would have been pi$$ed if I had paid to watch this at the theatre. I would maybe give it about 5/10 at most |
I saw the title "Argyle" and honest to g. my first thought was... "Hey, the limo driver from Die Hard got his own movie." |
Thanks for the laughs! You weren't the only one who's mind went to that character. lol |
Henry Cavill is a good actor, Bryan Cranston is an A actor!, Samuel L. Jackson is a good actor altho he has been playing himself in every role in over 150 movies since 1981 but just no, Comedy + Action not anymore, I've watched countless movies like this one in my youth so I've had enough. In the end always the action is poorly and let's be honest, it's a comedy movie with a touch of "action" per se, so I'll pass these combos comedy+action. Thanks nonetheless galaxyguys, perhaps I'm a little grumpy. Thawne |
Action and comedy is like strawberry and hot-dog flavor ice-cream They don't belong together |
Yeah Like the movie Rush Hour , best action comedy right there. |
I agree with every word this guy has said (this time, for a miraculous change). I just cannot see the point in people logging on to this site to tell everyone why they won’t watch a movie, and thus why they know nothing about what it’s really like |
Agree with all of this. Comedy-Action, ugh. And double-ugh for that Bryce woman; terrible actor. |
Comedy-Action are great together... if done right. Along the same lines as this, SPY (2015) was a great movie. This one was, ok... kinda fell flat somewhere. |
its nothing to do with the film you watched at the cinema but i have a big problem all the movies i download from TGx have forced subs is it possible to get the movies without forced subs |
To be fair Sam Jackson tried to not be himself in Kingsman and we kind of all collectively asked he never do that again. |
My favourite role for Samuel L. Jackson was as Mitch Henessey from The Long Kiss Goodnight. My favourite line in the movie was, "I'm always frank and earnest with women. In New York I'm Frank, and Chicago I'm Ernest." His chemistry with Geena Davis was awesome. This exchange I lifted from IMDB: Mitch Henessey: [singing] Putting the keys in my left pocket. Hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm. Gun in the right-hand side. Samantha Caine (Geena Davis): It makes a bulge, people can see. Mitch Henessey: Ya want me to stick it in my pants and shoot my damn dick off? Samantha Caine: Now you're a sharpshooter? Getting on for action roles, but he really does need a good meaty role again. Hollywood has been under-utilizing him. |
That's the current Hollywood practice. There are a lot of great actors overlooked because of age bias. You see it's the only discrimination that doesn't matter. Hollywood caters to the young demographic. let's say 18-49 but it's more like 14-35 that they truly care about. DEI all the way except white and old... |
@Buddy, Samuel L Jackson is black. Facepalm indeed. You're trying way too hard to satisfy your victimhood complex. |
Yes, 1 of my favorite Geena Davis movies! Early SLJ movies too |
This movie is beyond bad, writing is terrible, action is just awful. Henry Cavill's role in the movie is 5 mins long, that's it. They used him as bait for a god awful movie. |
Unoriginal and uninteresting. The performances are subpar, as the characters are unlikable. The movie fails to offer anything new to its viewers. The ending is predictable and unsatisfying. Overall, this movie is a prime example of a failed production, with its derivative plot, failing to deliver. |
Thank you, been looking forward to this, good cast to 👍 Yomanda |
Excellent! There aren't enough movies set in Plymouth - or even Devon, come to think of it. |
Just watched the trailer. It really does look like a good laugh. Going to watch it tonight, so I will report back then. |
Okay, a day late, but James Bond eat your heart out. To be honest, I only watched this because of Henry Cavill, but I'm glad I did. The music and combat scenes are cheesy and comical, especially the big battle towards the end which had me in fits of laughter. It was a good film, a few plot twists to keep it interesting |
