Watermarked ad that slides around screen during duration of cam. Banner ads on screen @ 3:04-3:18 and 2:35:23-2:35:38 Interrupting ads @ 10:07-10:37 and 1:05:17-1:05:47 Audio: 8/10. Some quiet parts, Javier Bardem's character can be difficult to hear clearly. Occasional theater noises, nothing obnoxious. Video: 7/10 Ads aside, minor full-screen obstructions from audience that may last a few seconds and washed out colors (typical of cam). Great movie; a bit rushed in some scenes and bonces around a bit but still quite enjoyable. |
Everyone who watches this complete shite abomination is doing themselves a TREMENDOUS disservice. Saw it Sunday night in IMAX, it was SPECTACULAR. It deserves to be seen on the biggest screen imaginable. These cam job butchers of artistry deserve to be hung from their private parts. |
I hear you, I'm in total agreement. That's why I'm going to wait until a web rip copy shows up. Can't do an ad riddled movie, but Hollywood is never seeing a penny from me ever again, so IMAX is a hard pass, as well as streaming svcs. |
Agree. IMAX is worth the watch and every guy should have a 52 or 60 inch HD Screen to see cinematic effects and sports. F___ that small screen shite. You can get one for 800$. Nobody should be seeing small screen stuff unless your at your gfs apt. |
Thank you. Was going to download this torrent and have a lazy evening at home but then saw your comment and ended up driving 1h25min to the nearest IMAX cinema (haven't been for years!). It was an experience and totally worth it, what a movie... |
I saw this on a ScreenX screen. And the movie looks great with the extra two screens. Only thing it needed was the IMAX sound. |
I saw this today at my local cinema. It`s a film you really should watch on a big screen. The sound/music alone is worth the trip! I can`t wait for the next installment. |
How is this available before 1st March worldwide release date? |
probably an advanced screening |
"Worldwide" is often used just for marketing. Release dates often vary around the world. You can see a list of dates on imdb https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15239678/releaseinfo/?ref_=tt_ov_rdat |
Guest-4277 that's BS and you know it. When a show or movie says it's release is the same day worldwide that is what they do. Guest is most likely correct. |
There was multiple IMAX Fan Screenings last night. Judging by the aspect ratio, this is an IMAX Cam. |
I live in Norway and the film premiers tomorow, i.e. the 27th February. |
@cowgirl It's not BS at all. Did you actually LOOK at the link that Guest-4277 went to the trouble of posting? The worldwide release dates DO VARY by country and it says so RIGHT THERE on that link. |
@Cowgirl: each HOLLYWOOD movie is not released in the USA and Canada and Europe and Asia and other countries on the same dates. Some countries like China won't get a movie for months. In a few cases, China actually had a HOLLYWOOD movie released there first before it was released in the USA and Canada and Europe. |
In my country the premier is 28th feb, so early access in some part. |
I saw it at the cinema today in Sweden, great movie but now i need to wait for part 3. |
Frankly. I don't care that it's got ads or if it's low quality. I'm just glad it's here! |
They've pulled this more than a few times in the last few weeks that I know of, something ads not being placed in that section. |
anything labelled c1nem4 or SUNSCREEN is going to be ad smeared and low quality. How can anyone not know this? |
i guess it's what you make of it yourself, people love the 84' version of dune and rightly so. I prefer the 21 version but that's just me, i know i'll like this movie because i like the way the first one was made......... Thank you for sharing |
This is a good copy of the film. Good Audio and Video. However the movie itself is over-rated. Critics are praising it like its one the best sci-fi films ever made. Far from it. Disjointed plot lines, poor editing with lots of unanswered questions, bad pacing. I give it a 6.5 at best and only because of some good acting. Editing and storytelling component is average. Lots of gaps to fill in. Perhaps an extended Blue-Ray edition would be better but the cinema edit is substandard. And anyone who tells you the film has good pacing has no idea what they are talking about unless they are paid shills. Looks like many reviewers out there are just that, sad to say. |
did u watch this on your Samsung Galaxy tab by any chance? mate i came here for the comments and there is no way i'm downloading this garbage, but i saw it in cinema last night and it was stunning |
The 1984 Dune was so good they even made a video game of of it Saved our pocket money and paid $30 bucks at Wally World for a copy Had to ask one of the neighbors to go into the store since it was age-restricted |
Okay, finished the second part and now I can give a complete review of both parts as one film. Again as is his style, Villeneuve focuses on atmosphere, scenery and character relationships, at the expense of moving the story forward to cover the book's finale. The pacing is off, more ground should've been covered within a 2 1/2 hr. runtime. same thing with the Blade runner sequel, which wasn't adapted, but the same pattern remains IMO.High marks for cinematography, costumes, OST. Acting was at acceptable levels, with the standout being Timothée Chalamet, excellent job as Paul Atteddies. Even with his style of directing , 30 mins more would've allowed him to complete the film with the book's finale, even with the standard of how he paces his films. For me it's unfortunately what I suspected Gorgeous to look at, attention to detail, serviceable acting, anti-climax. I rate this film as a whole a 6/10 Villeneuve is a good director, who needs to work on story progression in his films. He keeps coming up short. Maybe the studios who contract him, make him whittle down his films. |
Books often do not translate directly to screen, as time and ideas and the introduction of detail flow at different paces on the written page. Where as film can only cut back and forth through time. Too many jump cuts can disrupt the visual flow and narrative. Some detail must be discarded or only referenced. |
Editors and producers sometimes rape a print. Then you may see a later director's cut, but the damage may have been done. Any sunlight may have already have been snubbed out. Books are books. Films are films. And sand gets in your underpants. |
@Guest-3393 The finale in the book is pretty cut & dry .IMO, a necessary detail. From what I know of Villeneuve, this was a thinly disguised attempt to put his personal signature on his work at the expense of the story and call it "His Vision" arrogant prick. Scott or Nolan would have done a better job |
Well said. This is a good analysis and an honest review. You're right about the pacing. Story progression etc. Editing needs more work especially the cinema edition. The Blu-ray version may be more complete with more details and plot gaps filled in. |
The gods are reaching out to Will for a proper copy. Will if you read this, we appreciate you bro. |
