I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die. |
There was a U.S. Theatrical version with the voice over, and an International version without it. However there are other versions, and depending on how it was recorded and remuxed the voice over may not be included. The Final Cut (this version), from memory, will not have the voice over (Decker). |
Thats the only version Ive seen. Never knew there were others. |
As usual the European version (or versions) is/are better than the U.S. release. Mostly as the U.S. audience is assumed to need the story explained to them, and quite possibly to annoy the hell out of directors. If you sit in with a director to watch a pre-release cut, they are extremely temperamental over editing. |
So can anyone who has d/loaded this release please confirm if this is the original 1982 theatrical cut, voice over/no unicorn cut that we know & love? Does anyone, my dream scenario, know if there is even a 4K/2160p version of the original 2160p US voice over/no unicorn cut of this seminal theatrical experience?! |
The International Release DOES have the voice over N0 unicorn BS NO nonsense of Deckard being a replicant as that is just stupid as the story is supposed to explore humanity in a the time of rampant genetic engineering But the International version is more violent as it does NOT cut away at Tyrells death, has the Roy Batty line of combined father/fucker and other more sophisticated nuances. It is the choice to own and watch. All others are attempts to showcase Ridly Scott's malignant directatorship like Whats his face and Star Wars |
Which version is this? There are 7 versions of Blade Runner 1982. I have them all too. |
As do i. This is my all time favourite movie along with the original Dawn of the Dead from 1978. This is how movies should be made. Realistically with decent acting. |
jaxe if it helps, this is a version with the unicorn dream and no Deckard voiceover. |
@Dominatez. Same here for me for BR, which is why 2049 was such a bitter disappointment. None of the magic, wonder, and even profundity of the first. Even the exterior city scenes were botched (way too dark and foggy, as confirmed by Douglas Trumbull himself). Oh well. |
If synths could act like real humans it would break the fourth wall. The chief clearly explained that. Though Cambridge Analytica clearly demonstrated people can't tell the difference. |
