 | Watched it. The family Plan would be most fittingly described as a comedy for families. Given the string of failures to come out this Christmas involving family fun fair, this one is one step above, one very small step. Wahlberg has great comedic timing especially when interacting with babies, it's insufficient to maintain your interest for the entire film. The movie kicks off in an entertaining way and then gradually loses its momentum when the drama commences. The laughs become perfunctory and tiresome. The characters one dimensional. The film adheres to the same format as so many other comedic films involving families in “danger”. There's truly nothing new here, there were moments of over the top stunts, smart ass children, an infant that goos and chuckles on key, and assassins who are annoyingly stupid. Both Walberg and Monaghan are better served in thrillers. |
