This movie would never have worked. Foraying into religion with wokeness that democrats shun and republicans wont accept. The story itself is weak. Though it claims to be a supernatural, the movie's entire focus is on Ann like it were a biography. Unlike the conjuring, insidious etc series, the origin nor anything about the demonic is ever explored at all, nor is the demon really a part of plot except around Ann to egg her plot on. On a side note, Im sure its just me hearing a lot of 'she' being born in every film. Now when was the last time we heard a "Its a He"?! |
It's a nothing, it's made up. it's fiction, he, she or they. |
Thanks to the uploader.. This is one of the better exorcist style horror movies about. Well worth watching. I would recommend a go before commenting.. |
This has got one of those expected 'unexpected' endings if that makes sense |
Well, this is an interesting goof and one of my pet peeves A ceiling fan rotating at super-high velocity that loses a fan blade would instantly become so unbalanced and unstable it would tear itself off the ceiling rather than continue to rotate unaffected. And in any movie worth the price of a picture house ticket they do rip from the ceiling but not in this one - maybe the fan is 'possessed' |
"unbalanced and unstable" you mean like some of the posters here? |
Yeah well, since have often wondered, I have tried this at home and point of fact they do tear themselves from the ceiling WARNING This was under CONTROLLED CONDITIONS DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE TRY THIS AT HOME, KIDS |
Also, if you're a kid visiting an aunt you don't like much, duck-taping paint brushes soaked in many different colors of ink to each blade, turning the fan on "real fast", closing the door and running away will get you grounded for like YEARS And they make you paint the room afterward too |
All fans are possessed. That's why they're called fan(atic)s. |
Finally got round to watching this while I was working and playing on the forums late last night. A/V is excellent as always, thank you GalaxyRG for a faultless share. The movie is interesting, it's a bit of a new premise on the old trainee exorcist trope. As an atheist, I can't find it within myself to care much about the "foraying into religion" angle, and so am not in the slightest bit bothered about the Catholic Church stumbling into the 20th century more than 20 years after most of us left it behind. A woman exorcist? Oh, how heretical!! And she didn't do a bad job either. This is a pretty good horror, with a few nice creepy moments, and some scares for those of us that get into the genre. Acting is good, and the supporting cast are more than competent (Colin Salmon has a nice screen presence). Yes, the ending is predictable, but I was rather hoping it might pave the way for a sequel too. Regarding the criticisms of sex-bias from the toxic compound and gender-triggered community... do try and grow up kiddies. The global population is not all male my little chappies, try and get along with the rest of the world or you'll live a very aggravated existence. Thanks again GalaxyRG for a really enjoyable upload |
but we would not have to get along if they were not set there where we dont want them to begin with... |
Other people have their opinions & beliefs, they have as much right to share them as you. |
The only 'exorcist' movie worth the time of day (or night) is the original 1973 movie starring Max von Sydow Every time one of these copy-cat movies pop up I give the original and best another viewing instead And since they are so many copy-cats popping up my VHS tape is the worse for wear |
@Guest-2326: you will be happy to know there is a new Exorcist movie coming in late 2023. It will be a direct sequel to The Exorcist 1973. It will disregard all the Exorcist sequels made in the past 50 years. Ellen Burstyn will return as the mother from the original film. |
Jaxe, I agree but the Exorcist TV series with Geena Davis, was pretty damn good. In my opinion. |
VERY happy to hear that Mr. J Am I the only one who thought that all of the other "Exorcsists" weren't really worthy of the name? |
Just to add on to what Jaxe mentioned about the upcoming sequel Exorcist, its done by the same guys that did the new Halloween films. I too, really enjoyed the tv series made a couple years back, was gutted it got canned Exorcist III was a pretty awesome film |
@ Acr250rider, yes that was good and they cancel it leaving all the stories open and unresolved. Another one of many great TV series that FOX ended prematurely over its 36 years existence. |
