I'm tired of films in which poor women are presented as martyrs and men as the most evil beings in the universe, especially white men. The allegories in the film are ugly I was going to die laughing when the three ladies beat up the policemens Enola knows Jiujitsu oh man really Death to normal men, if they are white men then the fate of Sir William Wallace awaits them This is Hollywood today... changing, replacing literature and history in the name of racial and sexual diversity... Why don't you create something of your own and stop stealing, aren't you super talented and creative??? Be careful Enola knows Jiujitsu |
Take a guess what non-white non-cismen were saying all those years when the screen showed nothing but Stallones, van Dammes and Schwarzeneggers. And now it hurts you when others share the spotlight? |
You all speak of Hollywood like it is one big company; it isn't. It's a myriad of film making companies from all over the country, all over the world even. And if it were one company, they wouldn't be stealing, would they? They would just be recycling material they already own. Oversimplifying rarely makes sense,. |
Imagine consider yourself the "strong sex" and start crying because a little girl is the protagonist of a fantasy movie |
Y'all really don't have any media literacy huh? Did u forget that this film is from the pov of a girl who's imaginative as hell or that one of the protagonists is literally a white male lmao? Also this literally is based on smtg of it's own & creative, a book series that was popular & designed for middle graders lol. |
Its worse now than it was ever before. At least from the days of Gregory Peck till Stallone, masculinity did not need to beat up women to prove themselves. Well at least the celluloid is all they got for we know what a real world situation might look like. |
and we're tired of you cry baby men. So embarrassing. Can imagine you going to the cinema with a date and fucking it up cos youre complaining about the film |
I watched the first one because it was a great production and had Helena, Henry and other great actors, but Millies' acting made me cringe all the way. I hope she has matured her art a little bit now, but I'm still bracing beforehand. Thanks to the uploader. |
Lets keep an eye out for: Zuri Holmes (2023) - the sister from another mother Booker Holmes (2024) - the man who discovered Sherlock Canary Holmes (2026) - the man-woman edition |
@Guest-3106 Reason, doesnt constantly appeal to one particular group. If it does, its not appeal, its appease. |
His name is not "reason", it's "voice of reason". That's self-overestimation, boarding on arrogance. |
These movies are ok. I'm just pissed that Henry Cavill, isn't going to be in the Witcher season 3. Miley's week husband, is going to be playing the Witcher! |
I would have cried wokeism, but come to think of it, at least thats what sold a few prints that it did - by luring in the woke groups without which this would have fallen flat on its face. Sherlock as a character has been done and redone and then some on film and tv and one more wouldnt have appealled to the mass audience enough. Factually, Sherlock was middle-aged by the time he gained fame. To portray a barely legal teen as his sister can only mean this is a chic flick meant to appeal to younger audiences only, and feminist groups if one was to take the liberty of narrowing it down further. All ideas in film and tv has been done redone. Theres nothing more hollywood has to offer in terms of intrigue except for visual effects and appeals to specific minority groups. Hollywood is croaking its last. |
Well alright then, don't watch any movies anymore. Problem solved. |
"I am a WOMAN. How am I supposed to cope in this... society?" is what a strong female lead says during this movie. It's not feminism people have a problem with, it's the way it's being portrayed in popular media. Botched the story with it's pseudo feminist angle. |
You do realise that this movie plays a looong time ago? Any idea what the position of women was back then? Try to see a movie (you know, being a fictional story and all) instead of a political pamphlet for once. |
Of course, no woman succeeded against the odds and they all complained and played the victim card! This unfair fictionalization and portraying that all men in power have made every woman in history suffer is being called empowering. 👏 |
No one claimed anywhere that "ALL men in power have made women in history suffer". Why do you need to hyperbole and distort to make a moot point? And please buy a dictionary; you clearly have no idea what "to empower" means. |
They didn't PLAY victim, they WERE victim and very often still ARE. |
@nocturnalpirate: if you watch the movie you will notice that even there they don't claim that all men in power make women suffer. In fact Enola can only win and the cause be successful thanks to men in power. |
yep i also watched the first one, and i'm not a millie bobby brown fan, but i enjoyed the film, so i'll have a go at #2 so thanks for the upload. |
I just love hearing all the cries from you anti-woke crowd, about films like this being unrealistic. Yet male actors can dodge multiple bullets flying at them by just standing still. You lot need your fucking heads looked at, it's films with entertainment, dont expect realism unless its a documentary ffs |
