 | Based on and Inspired by a true story. It's that simple. Any film that has that in the title means about 2 sentences and 1 action could be true and the rest is all made up. IE: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - BASED on Ed Gein - All he did was use skin to make things. But , nope, people believe some guy is running around Texas with a chainsaw. |

| Seen the Documentary , Thai movie and other programs that covered this rescue mission . I live in Thailand and remember watching this on the news everyday. Just finished watching this version and suggest you ignore all the negative comments and give it a watch . By the end of the movie it had bought back all the emotions i had when it happened .  | Most here don't have the intellect to understand any of what you said Bro. & even less understand how serious this rescue was or what went into it to save these kids' lives. the Rescue divers are legends! while I prefer the NatGeo Ver The Rescue, it's just rawer factual this is a great movie! not to Hollywood |

| Release is good 10/10. The move is not that great. the old tricks of a catastrophe movie to ring a bell in your hearth, but it is just not as good as others we can find n that genre. Too long, too slow, under water scene hardly works most of the time. |

 | I have watched several very well made documentaries about this event. When I heard Ron Howard was going to make a movie about it, I suspected the final product will not be good. I am correct: 1. "Expectedly bombastic stuff from Howard. Hyperactive direction , editing and soundtrack to ramp up the emotion. Very expensive production values. All put together to make your heart race. Totally transparent. The story is incredible enough to not need this kind of hyperbole." 2. "This is a disgrace to everyone involved in what happened. If you want the actual story, without all the fluff, go watch The Rescue, that was made by National Geographic." YOU CANNOT SENSATIONALIZE and EMBELLISH a story like that. It's like making a movie about Flight 370 and turning it into an action suspenseful thriller. |

| Every movie based on true events is sensationalises and embellished. It's a movie, not a documentary. People want to be entertained, not educated. They're not going to the theatre to hear a a summary of facts, they want to hear a story with substories interwoven. |
