@ Guest-3552 It is like when colour TVs first came out my folks/grandfolks would always turn off a black & white movie as soon as it came on :D I even remember them turning off Citizen Kane I had to be old enough to own my own TV before I watched that |
"And Korean movie has no checking boxes of agenda list" If you ignore the north-south (korea) cooperation (/unity) agenda. |
Which is exactly why lots of people prefer dubbing to subtitles, they want to watch the film, not spend two hours reading subtitles. ;) |
PLOT SPOILER I actually thought that they were going to be rescued by a helicopter at the Embassy I wonder what gave me that idea And as it happened it turned out that this wasn't the case Although they did take a helicopter ride later on |
Dubbed vs Subbed, the debate continues. There is a case for both and I for one will be happy to go for either under the right circumstances. It's silly to generalise that only one scenario is applicable to all. If a story is moderately paced with plenty of time to read the subs and take in the scene then fine, subs are definitely the go. If however, the dialogue is voluminous, or rapid fire, say in a fast paced actioner, then I'd much rather a dub in order to take in the visuals. The subs only brigade is selling the cinematographer and director short if insufficient time is available to fully appreciate a scene. There's a place for both and although I haven't yet seen it, I would suspect this to be better viewed dubbed (providing it's a good quality dub). |
Sounds like a pastiche of 13 Hours: Battle for Benghazi and No Escape which is good since both were fantastic, thrilling and above all very 'watchable' movies Anyway, I have enjoyed a good few excellent Korean flicks so definitely going to take this one out for a spin... :D Vrooom, vroom... |
Thanks @jaxe for the excellent info for the movie, and everyone else's feedback for the "dubbed" part. I guess if it was dubbed with good quality that's a big difference than one of poor quality. Only one way to find out and that's download it and take a chance, because thx @Jaxe, it sounds like it would be good! Anxious to hear your thoughts after your watch of it, my friend! :) Thank you very much to TGx for always bringing us excellent and consistently high quality movies every week, it's so much appreciated! :) Hope everyone has a fantastic rest of the week! |
Pro tip@ You could always read the subtitle file beforehand that way you wouldn't need to pay it as close attention and it wouldn't get in the way as much |
A lot of the times the dubbing is better than what counts for original spoken language Too much mumbling and muttering under the breath especially with USofA 'actors' So, if you don't want to spend your time missing out on the plot-lines due to indistinct dialogue or rewinding constantly, you are forced to hunt down subtitles, and if you are lucky enough to find them you still have to spend your time reading them At least the 2/3 of this movie that is dubbed is crystal clear, you can make out every word distinctly just like it should be, and anyone who has ever been to drama school is taught to do I honestly think that some 'actors' lack formal training and think they are stuck in the corner of some bar muttering to their buddies Anyway, just one of my pet peeves Don't mind me and thanks for listening |
The only pet peeve about subtitles is it takes your viewing away from the movie. A little distracting. |
I Google it. This really happen. I didn't know North and South Korea and other countries (I won't mention which ones I FOUND VIA GOOGLE because I don't want to spoil the movie) had embassies in Mogadishu, Somalia. 92% FRESH on Rotten Tomatoes and 7.4 out of 10 stars on IMDB. One review said: sleekly effective as an intelligent, well-acted action thriller I am getting this! |
@Guest-3524 I feel your pain, bro I went through the whole of A Quiet Place 2 without understanding one, single word one of the actors said, or should that be muttered |
Aaaaaa, cumon guys and guls, comment the movie - should we watch it or should we pass? I read 2 pages of grandma`s preferencies - how they prefer the movies with subtitles, or without, or dubbed, or undubbed, with salt, or just with pepper....Cumon man |
