  Issues with the site (VPN related)

The current country i`m on is working but for backup to reach Torrentgalaxy  was wondering if i am connected to VPN how can i use the Thor browser Onion link? At the Thor website they say:  "Generally speaking, we don't recommend using a VPN with Tor unless you're an advanced user who knows how to configure both in a way that doesn't compromise your privacy."
Would i have to use Thor 1st and gather magnets into a text file perhaps? then connect to VPN?  In my VPN exceptions list it only has an ability to add websites and not apps, perhaps there is a website that accesses Thor for me without using Thor?
I mean really it not a big deal i could just pause the active torrents and switch VPN servers back and forth till i find a country that works but thought to ask about the accessing of Onion links whilst torrenting.

You don't need to connect to your VPN when using TOR (it's slow enough without putting it through another tunnel) although it does add another level of protection, it's not the downloading of .torrent file that's illegal, it's the downloading of the copyrighted content that's contained in the .torrent that's illegal.

So yes, grab your torrents through TOR then connect to your VPN and boot up your client and away you go :_party:_party:_pirate

As of today (April 20 2024) the link to https://proxygalaxy.me/ is down along with torrentgalaxy.me. I am able to connect using proxy torrentgalaxy.to

https://torrentgalaxy.to/ is the main domain but the proxies are working for me as well.

I had an issue with accessing torrentgalaxy.to. I'm aware that, if you just want access to torrents, that's not a problem. You just use a proxy. However, if your VPN is blocked, you obviously can't login to your account to access the forum. It's working now, but in the future, is there a list of TorrentGalaxy's blocked VPN services?

TorrentGaxaly does not block VPN services....just certain addys that are used to attack it in any way.
VPN services buy "ranges"....if you are using a VPN addy/I.P. that is in the same "range" as one that is being used nefariously then you may be caught up in the safety net of iffy I.P.'s:_:-(
That is why we advise users/Members etc to "Change your I.P. or VPN server/addy/router I.P." if/when you encouter El Fenco :_party:_pirate

ProtonVPN works and its free to access the sites like .to .mx etc... you can also switch vpn ips and when you find one that works just set it as your main connection when your vpn connects it differs a lil bit with each vpn but its pretty simple to do. Then each time your vpn connects it only uses the one you selected. I never have issues getting on here so i dunno what you see but you can also use the tor browser and connect through using http://galaxy3yrfbwlwo72q3v2wlyjinqr2vejgpkxb22ll5pcpuaxlnqjiid.onion which never seems to fail. You also can setup a vpn on any router even if it doesnt support a vpn you can still use it for your vpn for your entire house for all devices, any router works any make and model it doesnt matter matter. All you do is setup a vpn on windows then plug any wifi router into your ethernet port and share your vpn connection with the router, not many people even know about this :_:) good luck bro!

Not for me and im running through a proxychain and a vpn and all my bandwidth is coming from a router running DD-wrt that also has a vpn. This site still works good :_:) you may have a malware issue or something else, try loading a live linux distro to test with.

What OS are you using? windows or linux?

Heres something you can try, run a speedtest on the slow puter your on and post it here, if your far from your wifi this can also be an issue but if i can see a speedtest result i can help narrow this down for you.

Also dont turn off anything before running your speedtest, leave all torrent clients or whatever you have running leave it all run.

TGx is pretty good speed wise for me so something is going on for sure on your end.

My OS is Linux Xubuntu so malware is not relevant. My router speed is 742/63 my desktop WiFi speed is 413/63. In general I have nothing to complain about internet speed. Except here. Regularly I get the message while browsing this website: error establishing a database connection

Yeah im sorry your having issues and your speed is for sure great, what i suggest is since your on Xubuntu go to the terminal and install the tor browser and see how that works, currently it is what im on. But just know this is a torrent site and a torrent site needs to jump through lots of hoops just to even be online. I mean you need to make sure your hidden and running external links to site that cant be taken down & then there is the Ddos problem, you need to make sure the site cant keep getting Ddos pwnt. Then there is the cat and mouse game with SEO to combat search providers adding code in open and hiding it in imgs and whatever, there is a lot going on behind closed doors just to have this site for real. Also some linking from over seas maybe a place where they have no laws but slow speeds ,, whatever it takes to stay online. Redirects and all that is needed who really knows whats causing your issues but as i stated ,, give tor a shot.
