| Hi i am wondering if it is just me or if anyone else notices that after awhile H.265 vids go slowly out of synch. If u restart the video and resume from the timecode you were watching everything is fine again, but then slowly slowly goes out of synch (maybe 5-10 mins later). I`ve experimented with different players i.e Potplayer, VLC, MPC-BE and they all end up doing it. i`m guessing this is from the variable frame rates encoded? is there a tweak to any of the players to solve this? i know u can speed up slow down audio temporarily with most players to manually apply sych fixes.. not talking about that. Right now i prefer potplayer tho dont mind if u have a tip for a different player. Perhaps there`s a better vid player to download?  Last edited by realityshow on 2022-07-09 05:21:16 | |

| Thxs for the suggestions they were useful in determining how to fix:) This particular PC i have not had long. its a micro pc (fits in palm of hand) uses very little power. On my bigger PC i left my vid player on default which worked fine but for this PC seemed i needed to tweak a few things. Whilst working with Ange1 `s & NatalieNY`s suggestion i found a drop down menu in Potplayer to enable Intel Quick synch which is an Intel hardware feature exclusive to Intel chipsets for decoding and encoding H.264 & H.265. Seems so far to have fixed the video/audio synching issue.:) Yay!  | |

| Unfortuantly the fix i found was turned out to be temporary  it worked with MiNx releases, as at the time i was experimenting with "The Boys"s03 MiNx encodes, but then for my fav encodes by Joybell it wouldnt play at all giving a black screen refusing to start, fortuantly Ange1 put me on the right track with K-lite codecs which led me to megamix-lav filters which includes MadVR filter. (MadVR is also in K-lite) On testing Battlestar Galactica (2004) series 1080p by Joybell; i had some unsmooth frames somewhat juddering with MadVR which presented a new issue but then after some research & experimentation changed the video render to Direct 3D 11 in Potplayer and now seems ok in conjunction with MadVR. Just thought i should update here incase someone has a similar issue. It maybe that changing the video render to Direct 3D 11 was all that was needed but i dont know for sure as i had already installed MadVR filter, non the less MadVR seems ok + there is a ton of options to improve picture quality:) Last edited by realityshow on 2022-07-10 08:41:24 | |

| No problems here, Potplayer do the job ok, no sync issue. With every update, Potplayer bring the new codecs but to be sure, install latest lav filters, set Potplayer to work with the new lav filter. Exist tutorial on youtube, easy work, try that, good luck.  | |

| Yep fortuantly the download i found on net called "Megamix-lav filters" makes installing to potplayer very easy. On Install it asks which player you are using so you can choose from potplayer or MPC-HC, then it give another option for low , mid, or high end GPU`s which was great, it installs all the Lav filters+ MadVR. Yes i should have mentioned MadVR uses the Lav filters for playback. i see tons of lav filters in the taskbar on vid playback ***tho would not install to Potplayer portable automatically, so had to get the proper Potplayer. | Thought i`d update my findings. Decided to just go with K-lite Codecs as per Ange1 `s first suggestion and uninstall Megamix-Lav filters pack as the megamix was primarily geared toward MadVR and my underpower GPU caused MadVR to crash potplayer. Csabaxb pointed out a online tutorial on how to get the K-Lite Lav filters to take over from Potplayer default, so that was useful.The Megamix Lav filters were soo interwoven with MadVR that if i did not specifically use Madshi render, it would not let me access subtitles for video on any other render. I had no option but to uninstall, and go for K-lite. Seems MadVR is only good for mid range and above GPU`s, and definitley not suited to my low 15 watts max PC with intergrated Intel 600 UHD GPU. Anyways valuable lessons learned; for now everything is running smoothly.. tho i said that last time..lol. fingers crossed eh! **edit, update:recent findings For some It maybe best to avoid k-lite codecs and just find Lav filters on their own, as K-lite has messed up 2 different video editing softwares on my PC, i`m sure theres a way to fix but cant be bothered instead i found another video editor that wasn`t affected tho some may not be so lucky. On the subject of video synch, whilst the video is somewhat better it seems to still happen a little U can try going into potplayer preferences/audio decoder press the little dots next to a decoder and it gives u LAV audio decoder settings, from here i put a tick in audio delay and set it to zero. whilst u probably dont need to tick it; i thought if i ticked: it may prioritize the audio track which i think helps but could just be psychological.
