Am I the only one who hate going to movies nowadays?

New rules coming for movie theaters in CA and theaters in the rest of the country will probably follow the same rules

covid 19 is changing things everywhere - here outdoor venues and old time drive ins are back and making it big! Incidentally nobody should be listening to anything jaxe has to say about movies, cinema or anything connected to media as she is completely out of touch with reality so ignore her future posts....

At $5/ticket I could see these. I never seen them on the movie big screen.

Looking at the seating chart with the new safe spacing, a row of 26 seats, once I pick the seat in the middle #13 or #14, I pretty much have the entire row to myself except for one person on either side of me with 4-5 empty seats in between us which will become unavailable to be picked.

Then 6 seats in the row in front of me and in the row behind me will also automatically become unavailable.

Don't know who these theaters going to survive even when the big first run movies return to the theaters after July.

If they keep these social distancing safe measures, a 200 seat theater will only have 50 seats per showing.

It will be difficult for the theater to make money and the studio to recoup the cost on movies with $200-300 million budget.

I remember a drive in where we live when I was still in grade school. We lived in the country and the drive in was out there in the country too. Drive ins were no longer popular cos of all the multi screen mall theaters popping up like weeds so they  only showed dirty movies. The screen was position so you couldn't get a free show without paying and going inside. But we kids knew of a couple of high spots in the hills we could get to walking or biking to see the screen from about 1/2 a mile away.
