"Speak No Evil" is a reimagining of the Danish film of the same name, featuring a new ending that caters more to a Hollywood audience compared to the original 2022 version, which is notably darker and more disturbing. The 2024 adaptation is intense and deeply unsettling, with James McAvoy delivering a chilling portrayal of a psychopath that highlights his exceptional talent. The film has a profound emotional impact, exploring themes of child abuse and the exploitation of kind-hearted individuals, and plunging viewers into the resulting horror and despair. However, the 2022 Danish version is even more challenging to watch, akin to witnessing an animal walk into a slaughterhouse, the same animal, over and over again...never learning. The characters' awareness of their peril, combined with their tragic obliviousness, intensifies the frustration, making it crucial to emotionally detach to avoid being overwhelmed by their inevitable downfall. You may be overcome with a dread or helplessness......the same helplessness I felt watching Glenn, in the WALKING DEAD become a victim of a spiked baseball bat. A sense of helplessness as the viewer. Although disturbing, the movie is effective, but is it entertaining or does it leave you feeling bad or angry long after the film is over ( it did for me )? The original film leaves a more profound sense of disillusionment about the world. While the outcome in the new version is quite different, it still packs a significant emotional punch. While the 2024 version may lack the emotional depth of its predecessor, it still delivers a powerful punch, offering a different but impactful experience. Rated R for stupid adult decision making, ominous overtones and missing tongues. V/5 A/4 ( out of 10 ) |
Wow! Another SLOTSLIGHTS.NET advertisement filled cam recording. The picture quality is very blurry and the audio sounds like if it was recorded in a wooden box under running water. Don`t waste your time - I stopped watching after 2 minutes |
Why you even bothered downloading this crap in first place? The word "CAM" should say it all. You couldn´t wait few weeks for better release? Go out and meet new people, get hobbies etc. |
Their first mistake is to pick an estate. They were better off and safer in a cabin. Their second mistake is to accept an invitation by a British family. Them Brits can be very weird and bizarre and most of them have poor dental care. Their final and most grievous mistake is agreeing to star in another lousy Hollywood reboot/remake of another great Dutch film. |
OI Give me a bell on my dog and bone when you get to the boozer |
Why is this "real life cop" commenting on every release? No life outside internet and imaginery job? |
a suggestion to all those watching cam version: turn up the treble and turn down the bass as much as possible to eliminate background rumble and emphasis voices... |
remake of the 2022 Danish film of the same name. Great crazy flick! *the Danish one.. haven't seen this yet, gonna wait for a proper copy. |
Yeah, the original was tremendous. Part of the story with the original was the two families having different languages--don't know how they'll handle that with two english speaking families. I've a feeling this will be like the American version of OldBoy. Hopefully not. |
I've seen the 2022 Danish version and I'm looking forward to seeing this one! Thanks TgX |
Cant stand that James McAvoy poohole, and i've watched the original so big NO for me.And Jaxe, at least we in the UK don't walk around with cartoon teeth! and we can talk whole sentences without croaking the last words like a frog... |
The hard-hitting message of this movie is that you keep being 'nice' to people even though they are doing bad things to you and you just can't stop being 'nice' you are going to end up in a bad situation You are allowed them to do it |
They have only gone and changed the ending What were the producers thinking of The original followed things through to a logical conclusion Much better |
Mark this 1st time, when the score 6.1 here is lower than actual one 7.0 on imdb |
