Sorry to hear that. Until the day I die I will still live my life like I am still a kid. Keeps ya young. |

LMFAO! I GUESS YOU SUM IT ALL UP! CAN'T STOP LAUGHING OFF YOUR COMMENTS. |
Based on this review alone, I'm watching it |
The thought of Adam Sandler being a serious actor is so fuckin laughable. He isn't even remotely on the level of Robin Williams. |
But if it's Adam Sandler in the poster, who's in the space suit? |
Ya the movie wasnt that great maybe 6/10. Not really much of a plot. Cosmonaut thinking his relationship with his wife on earth and wife on earth thinking of her cosmonaut hubby and throw a space spider counsellor into the works. Ya I watched it and it was kinda dumb. I probably wouldnt recommend it, but you may like |
I was gonna skip this movie, figured it would be more happy gilmore less SiFi. But thanks to the stellar review by voxveritasxxx , am gonna watch it. adam sandler getting railed in the ass by an alien spider ... in Zero-G .... Gotta see it This movie could become a cult classic |
I jumped on this as I like sci fi but when I saw adam sandlar it quickly deflated any excitement for me. No thanks, tired of his old teenage level dirty jokes. |
Guest-1770 - Guess he hasn't seen many serious (and semi serious) Sandler roles starting with 2002's Punch-Drunk Love (my favorite is till 2007's Reign Over Me). |
Let's be honest Sandler cannot perform serious rolls. Anyone think he can AhhaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa |
Apparently you haven't seen Hustle.2022, one of his recent best roles: |
Cow: I didn't say Sandler was good at dramatic roles, I said he has done them for a long time, so to think that every Sandler movie is just sophomoric comedy is factually wrong & has been for over 20 years. Ftr, I'm so-so about his dramatic abilities. He's not awful, but certainly not a Carrey or Williams &c. |
He wasn't even funny back in the day he just surrounded himself with funny people that couldn't stand on their own. |
Here is the complete (and comprehensive) list of comedians from SNL who can perform drama: Bill Murray. Lemme check. Is Adam Sandler on that list? No, he is not. |
More serious Adam Sandler drama weirdness. Imo, sometimes those work well, sometimes they don't. But they're always interesting. Hoping this is one of the better ones. Thanks! |
The cast looks SO GOOD.... Paul Dano? I would watch Paul Dano reading a newspaper. EXCEPT... Adam Sandler? I would not watch him except under gunpoint. And even then, I might opt for the hereafter instead. WHY DOES ADAM SANDLER GET ANY ROLES, COMEDIC or NON-COMEDIC. HIS ONLY "ROLE" IS OPERAMAN. |
So I watched this & liked it, but can certainly see how one could hate it. It's a strange & beautiful (& strangely beautiful) film that succeeds not on Sandler's performance (which is just adequate per his dramatic norm), but the direction & cinematography which are excellent. The story is also unique, & tackles 1/ |
profound themes without veering into pseudo-intellectualism or platitudinous nonsense which so many movies dealing with these do. In the end, if nothing else, I got to see Sandler flying through space with a space spider, so not the worst experience one could have. 7/10 |
Due to mixed reactions from test screenings, the film was in post-production for almost 3 years. |
It wasn't in post-pro, it was finished, they just shelved it for a few years. Happens a lot. Sometimes for a lot longer than you might imagine. The longest one I can think of was made in 1957, but not released until 1993, cos no-one bothered to unshelve it until all the companies involved were long gone. |
I don't know who wrote the plot above, but the movie has nothing to do with Venus, and as I suspected from that "in a forest" poster, that scene was purely symbolic or a fantasy segment that didn't actually happen, but makes perfect sense if you watch the story. |
The surface pressure of Venus is 92 times that of Earth Adam Sandler would be squashed like a bug |
0,92 times, Venus is smaller so you would actually weigh 10% less! |
I don't know why the description says he goes to Venus. In the movie he goes to Jupiter. |
@Guest-1083 Venus is a little smaller that Earth in circumference, but it has a very dense (93 times Earth's), very hot atmosphere (867°F / 464°C) with acid cloud |
Jupiter That is even worse There is not even a surface to land on Jupiter is composed of gases — hydrogen and helium, mostly — all the way down to its core, which may be a molten ball or a solid rock |
Don't worry about the slightly balmy temperatures Here on Venus we have lots of ice-cream stalls to enable Adam Sandler and other visitors to our beautiful planet to keep cool |
We bought an ice-cream on a trip Venus once It melted before we had got it out of the wrapper |

Dunno Why he is even bothering to wear a spacesuit Captain Kirk and the crew of the USS Enterprise were able to function on many mysterious planets without the need for one |
ebert gives it 3 thumbs up - says the first half is a bit of a chore , its said to be flawed but worth sticking with - sandler is said to be pretty good |
I never thought I would say this but this movie really needed Kevin James |
I don't know what you skinny humans yapping about. The movie is ok. |
A great opportunity gone to waste, the spider reminded me of Hal in 2001. Just couldn't get involved or care for any of it. Another Sandler stinker. Thank you up loader for trying. |
Stanley Kubrick went to great pains to make sure 2001: A Space Odyssey was scientifically accurate Seems like the makers of this couldn't care less |
