I remember seeing the Original Animated The Little Mermaid when I was a Little One. It was really great when I was a kid. There is no Shortage of any Movies or TV Shows these days for Kids datz fa shore. |
I was living in Germany as a single Dad of a 2 yr old when that movie came out. Someone mentioned to me about the erect penis on the cover art and I said oh hell no, no way a company would do that with a children's movie. The rest is mostly forgotten history. Disney has a dark side. |
justsomedude6x it's already been well-established that you see things like this in illustrations that just don't exist. I feel for you, but you really need to seek therapy |
LL - Your chosen nom de guerre advertises like a neon sign who may need therapy. So nameslinging aside, I owned that VCR tape and the penis was there. Quick web search - warning, erect penis depiction - https://duckduckgo.com/?q=little+mermaid+penis+cover&t=newext&atb=v376-1&iax=images&ia=images&iaf=size%3ALarge |
We've been here justsomedude6x, what you're experiencing is "pareidolia", the "tendency for perception to impose a meaningful interpretation on a nebulous stimulus, usually visual, so that one sees an object, pattern, or meaning where there is none." It's why some people see Jesus Christ on their pizza |
To be fair and having a decent amount of experience creating artwork commissions, there is no way for anyone to not recognise that phallic shape, especially if they are the ones drawing it and for such a high-profile client. Nobody working in the field can say it was unintentional, except to cover ... |
Indeed, every lighthouse has a phallic shape. So has every carrot, every lamppost, anything tall and erect. For crying out loud, why not stop drawing altogether, because round shapes always will remind you of boobs and squares of yourself… |
3026, see the post from 4189, who give a lovely everyday description of pareidolia at work. You could be drawing a carrot, but when just some passing dude sees it, his mind may be full of imagery that causes him to see an erect penis: pareidolia at work. |
What's with the randomly capitalized words? I suspect most guest comments are bots. |
To be fair, Liberal, it's obvious you've never worked in the design industry. Likening intentional drawing to foodstuff taking on random shapes is hilarious. Must be nice to assume corporations hire people off the street to hand in work in the 11th hour and willingly open themselves to international ridicule ... |
To be fair, there are those who cannot draw phallic objects to save their lives and those who graduated academic institutions and know what to look out for when finishing commissions. You seem to be stuck on the delusion that this corporation can do no wrong; a quick Google proves otherwise, including The Rescuers ... |
Guest-1117 you're missing the point. The phenomenon is that something exists (e.g., drawings, clouds) that many see quite simply and clearly as X, but others see as Y in the patterns (e.g., "rabbits" in clouds). It's a psychological twist caused by the way the human brain works. Googling proves nothing |
Jaxe you are the epitome of hypocrite. Complaining of someone stealing your avatar and not reading the rules. Only a tool would be so little of a person. Jaxe you are going to go far and when you do, stay there! |
Nor was she in Andersen's story. But still, there are more black people in Denmark than mermaids in the oceans. |
if i want to watch a good one, ill make sure its hans christian anderson not disney/hollywierd |
Problem is H.C. Andersen never made a movie about his story, so I'm afraid you'll never see one. Your choice, though. |
disney should stop trying to go woke & return back to catering the chinese market as they were doing before.. with that market they would have a better chance at profits & they just have to appease the ccp lol also they would have new stories since it seems muricas imagination is dead & fixated on just remaking etc.. |
They do not "try to go woke", they go with the changing times. They now know how horribly wrong 'Song Of The South' was and try their very best not to make such mistakes ever again. There are certain things (you call it 'woke' for some reason) that weigh more than profit and those things ultimately will pay back. |
Exactly and that's who this movie is for. Not for those agenda pushing misanthropes. |
They ruined a perfect good old fashioned Film. Put it on BET Network, where it belongs. Time to wake the woke... |
I am sorry to say, but this movie was absolutely unnecessary. We already had one. We didn't require another one. Why keep telling the same exact story over and over again? Come on, Disney, put on your thinking caps, and come up with something new and original. This was utter garbage, an awful disappointment, and very poorly acted. It was obvious that the person playing the role of Ariel, Halle Whatever, was an extremely unseasoned actress, who had, the majority of her past acting jobs, only portrayed herself. She was overacting on a tremendous level to the point of embarrassment. I suffered through the entire movie at a theater no less, (I counted at least 15 people who walked out). This one was a severe thumbs down on every level. Don't waste any of your life. Miss this one! 0/5 stars. |
So there also was no need for another Fast And Furious, Star Wars, Avengers, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Batman, Superman, anything with a sequel, prequel, intermezzo and postlude? |
Why are so many possessed by the desired failure of Disney? Whether Disney really fails, they are not even interested; they will come up with the failures and fabricated figures on the spot. But why? Have you forgotten how much Disney has meant for you in your youth? Do you not want your children and grandchildren to have any of that? Is it too difficult for you to accept that the world has not stood still the last fifty years and the times have indeed changed? Climb on board now that it is still possible, because the world will not stop turning and time will never go backwards. But if you don't want to do it for yourself, do it for your children and grandchildren. They also want a nice childhood. |
I watched the x265 version and it was good, looking forward to seeing it on a large screen with the bright colorful scenes. Yes, I liked the movie, I like many musicals and this reminded me of the older style musicals much like those made with Judy Garland, or more recently Disney's Frozen. The animated animals were funny, definitely something for the children. |
I personaly can't stand the little mermaid. A spoiled little brat, willing to commit genocide on her entire race for her own selfish wants and desires |
