is it only me, or do they both don't resemble scientists, but some bums |
he would look like david banner, she like, madam currie.. bahhhhh, bahhhhh |
Scientists are almost human, they come in all kinds, shapes and appearances. Hope that doesn't keep you up tonight… |
The hulk and Marie "Currie" in one sentence when speaking of scientists. If anyone marvels: that's what the world has come to… |
"Scientists are almost human..." LMFAO Last time I looked around my lab' most of us were wearing our oldest, tattiest crap in case we spilled something noxious and missed the lab coat -- most of those look like graffiti-covered, dirty-white rags. On the back, mine says, "I want to be taller!" |
So, what, in the future they don't know how to boil water? Can't electrolyze it and then burn the recovered hydrogen to create pure water? Seems like a stupid premise but I'll watch anything with Natalie Brown in it, so thanks. |
And how many nutrients does pure water contain? It will serve to wash your hands, but you wont survive on it. Premise perhaps not so stupid? |
Minerals, while not necessary, can easily be added to pure water, (more for taste, really, than for nutrition). Premise still stupid. |
100% ultra-pure water is not good for our health because water (H2O) purely comprised of hydrogen and oxygen does not provide our body with the natural electrolytes and salts that we need to survive. I'm flabbergasted a biologist doesn't agree… |
Pure water is in fact quite aggressive. Drinking plenty of pure water not only does not provide you with the essential electrolytes, but it also tries to “rob” you of the ones already in your body, creating a possible fatal imbalance. Right, biologist? |
"Pure" water being bad for one is a complete myth! If ALL you ingest is water, then pure water might - ever so slightly - hasten one's demise from starvation. Mineral content of fresh water varies everywhere. Distilled water has virtually none. Purified water is water with as much as possible that isn't H2O, removed. |
Pure water is an active absorber – when it comes into contact with air, it absorbs carbon dioxide, becoming acidic. The more pure water one drinks, the higher the body acidity becomes, spilling huge amounts of calcium, magnesium, and other trace minerals into the urine. 1/2 |
In the case suggested by the OP there will be no other water available than pure water. Which means that over time people will drain essential minerals from their body, leading to osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, hypothyroidism, coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, among others. 2/2 |
But that would presuppose that no dietary source replenishes such minerals, which we know is false. As stated before, it would also be quite the simple matter to "fortify" the pure H2O, once produced. The premise of this film is still stupid. |
Many soda drinks are produced with pure water. There are plenty of studies that show that drinking great amounts of those sodas does in fact drain minerals from your body. Remember, in this case there is nothing else but beverages produced from pure water. I'm sorry , but I still believe in science. |
This is all quite interesting really, I can see a spot of journal-diving this afternoon -- sometimes these comments sections can be quite fun. Thank you peepz!! Hope you all have a Great Secular Winter Festival and an Even More Wonderfiul New Year |
Guest-2649 >> Of course, we should all bear in mind that (and I'm sure you're aware, but just to be clear) -- as an ingredient -- distilled water ceases to be "pure water" when it's mixed with other constituents. |
