@ Guest-4059 CARTOON?! Surely you mean ANIMATION And we don't do COMICS either - we do GRAPHIC NOVELS |
Actually comics in the 1940s were very mindful of this. The superheroes fought the war or supported war efforts like buying war bonds and paper drives and whatnot. But they never swooped in and ended the war even under fictional terms. The creators back then felt it would be wrong to do that, so the heroes just helped out. Siegel and Shuster actually did a 2-page comic for a magazine about "How Would Superman End the War" if superheroes were to do that sort of thing. All it involves is Superman flying in, grabbing Hitler and Stalin, and turning them over to the League of Nations. I doubt that would have actually ended the war, but who knows. https://archive.org/details/HowSupermanWouldEndTheWar/page/n1/mode/2up In the 1940s readers wanted them to fight with America in the war. That generation loved the patriotic propaganda. Soldiers read comics overseas. Readership of comics at that time was astronomically higher than it is today. During the Vietnam War, there are very few comics actually addressing the war, because the American people weren't as keen on fighting that war. So the superheroes didn't rally to fight in Vietnam. Superheroes have fought the war on drugs, against terrorism, for civil rights, and in modern comics for every left-wing woke agenda you can possibly imagine through increasingly more graphic violence. But they shouldn't have fought in WW2 during WW2, which is the generation the JSA is from? |
Actually, isn't saying that it required super heroes to stop the Nazis literally spitting in the face of the true heroes that did really risked (and often enough: sacrificed) their lives to fight fascism? Think about that before you 'like' any of this cheap crap. |
Apart from yet another stupid black version I really enjoyed the parallel earth story. They were great team ups back in the old days which I really miss. |
I only came here to download a movie but the comments didn't change my mind |
The World needed Heroes back then! Thanks to the inspiration provided by comic writers we actually Won that War. Golden Age Heroes were the always the nicest & best ever. Not messed up like you lot are today. Thank You Uploader I really needed some good old fashioned nice adventures again. |
