![]() | a/v/m 6/6/7 i think a few commenters missed the concept. it's an upside down pov observational treatment of a decidedly difficult family. by the ghost. quite ingenious. very soderbergh-ian in conception, construction, and implementation. those who complain that it's shot on an iphone? go watch a blockbuster special effects movie if that's what you like to see. the use of the iphone is a perfect match for the overall concept. if it brings to mind actual documentaries made by children recording (on their iphones) the ins and outs of their f-upped families, you're half way to understanding soderbergh's point. |
![]() | Yes, the genre has been over-done, but this one had Lucy Liu in it so I watched it. Thanks for the movie guys. |
![]() | Well he did 'A scanner darkly' & several imdb 7's so it can't be all bad. probably a realistic film as well mwehehe. |
![]() | Really, Steven? This is what you been doing the past nearly 14 years? You, the Steven who won a Best Director Oscar for Traffic and was nominated for another Best Director Oscar for Erin Brockovich? The 'finding out a home/residence/building/structure/adobe is possessed or contains an evil presence after moving into it' genre has been done to death. Here's just a few titles off the top of my head: Dream House 2011 with James Bond Daniel Craig, Naomi Watts and Craig's real world wife Rachel Weisz https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1462041/ Cold Creek Manor 2005 with Sharon Stone, Dennis Quaid and a 13 years old Kristen Stewart in her third movie role https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0331468/ The Room 2019 with the always stunning beautiful Olga Kurylenko https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8485364/ Then of course we have the more commercially successful ones like The Conjuring 2013 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1457767/ Poltergeist 1982 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084516/ You can even include this one under the 'finding out a home/residence/building/structure/adobe is possessed or contains an evil presence after moving into it' genre The Shining 1980 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081505/ |
![]() | So what? I am more interested in hearing A/V quality of the cam, and whether it's a decent movie or not. |

![]() | Me, I remeber Soderbergh more for his Kafka. That movie was like nothing else, especially if you had actually read Kafka's works. |
![]() | The trailer sucks, it's not scary plus it was filmed in an iPhone 16. Just no. Thawne |
