![]() | have seen it yesterday. Pic/Sound quality is good. But best to see it again in the theatre, i'm sure it will be better. What can I say? Truly excellent film. But not in the "insidious" or "exorcist" way of scary. More like walking inside an Edgar Allan Poe nightmare. Stays true to the original in terms of plotting. Very Gothic, in a creeping dread kind of way. It may not be to everyone's tastes, though (too arty?). Hence the largely scathing user reviews. If you've seen the Murnau classic, and the Werner Herzog version, and enjoyed them both, then you'd probably like this one. Tech credits (esp. sound design, and the score!) are superb throughout. Will be watching it again when it hits the theatres over on my side of the pacific. |
![]() | decent quality, hardcoded subs on non english dialog. strange aspect ratio slightly narrow from 16:9 |
![]() | The aspect ratio might have been done on purpose. Some directors like to shoot slightly off the norm to make you uneasy or tense, because you feel like somethings off through the whole thing. On the big screen this can make some people queasy. |
![]() | that was the source files resolution.. n ye i Hardcoded the forced subtitles myself so other copies may have them optional.. |
![]() | strange aspect ratio??? The 1.66:1 aspect ratio was used in the first three James Bond movies and a Clockwork Orange. The 1.66:1 aspect ratio creates a narrow sense of space that leads to a sense of hyper-focus and high tension. |
![]() | After so much garbage last year (including the woeful remake of Stephen King's Salem's Lot) this is a remarkable quality shift, this movie was actually amazing and anyone claiming it as 'trash' clearly comes from the Reality TV Enjoyers kind of demographic. Fantastic film. |
![]() | Thx BONE, i always look forward to your releases. V10/A10 This version of the Murnau classic is not bad for what it is as, Murnau was forced to make a very good, but unlicensed film version of Bram Stokers classic Dracula. The names and locations were changed due to not getting permission from Stoker's widow. It still is IMO, the 1st film version of Dracula and even though it was silent, I found it far more creepy than the Todd Browning official version in 1931. But IMO, the quintessential " Dracula"( which is what Nosferatu has always been ) Is the Coppola version. The pacing and the editing could have been better. I'd rate this 5/10 That has to be be the most eerie Castle I've seen in a vampire movie, 10/10. |
![]() | This is a truly dreadful movie. It's probably more entertaining watching the dust settle on your TV than this car crash. |
![]() | And yet on 25 Jan 2025 it has a score of 7.5/10 on IMDB with 104,000 votes! Either you're right & at least tens of thousands of people who took the time to vote are wrong or... ![]() |
![]() | Thanks for the upload. Too bad the movie is probably the worst vampire movie I've ever seen in last 40 years. Total garbage. There is literally nothing happening for the first hour. I stopped after that. |
![]() | completely agree with you. The only good things about it are the music and the picture. But you can't make a good song with only music and clips, the lyrics should be good too. |
![]() | Pretty strong opinion. I guess you can't please everyone. Seems like at least 10s of 1000s of people who voted on IMDB would definitely have the opposite opinion though! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
![]() | I can't get passed the first couple of minutes without it crashing the player. |
![]() | What are you using? I use my smart TV, hate watching on a small screen. |
