Slick talker Robert Riley co-manages a booming realtor firm in New York which plans to expand to the West Coast, but hesitates to tell his doting son Oliver that means moving to California. So he plans to give the well-behaved, shy boy his best-ever Christmas to remember, but ignores his greatest wishes. That suddenly changes when he bumps into Christina Martino, who due to Chistmas ornament magic got the temporary, uncontrollable power force people to express their Christmas wishes after saying 'I want'. Blurting out an honest opinion got her fired at streaming service Poperatic as she inadvertently insulted the planned benefit guest celebrity. As he hinted at knowing elusive, long-retired Christmas hit singer-author Dan Copren, she offers to help him with Oliver if he finds Copren, as signing him up would earn her job back. During that painstaking process, they bond over Oliver, who resets dad's priorities.
