The series debuts in four Alaskan cities; Fairbanks Kodiak Kotzebue and Petersburg. The series plans to show the similarities of law enforcement in Alaska and the Lower 48. BUT, it will also highlight the differences, differences that can be huge. Producers became aware of recruitment issues in some Alaska communities. They began working with the four communities to help them make Alaska real to people, and perhaps aid recruitment of officers at the same time. The emphasis was on accurately showing what it's like to be a member of law enforcement in these Alaskan communities. This program will show the audience what it's like to ride along with officers in America's last frontier. Where police aren't just fighting crime, they're fighting wild animals, and lethally cold temperatures.

They face numerous dangers found only in Alaska, not just from people who want to be free from the rules of society, but also from encounters with predatory animals roaming through town and sub-zero conditions that can be deadly and unrelenting.  | This series debuted in 2020, ran Season 1 and then disappeared. Now almost 5 years later, Season 2 appears. If you play this episode or the other one that was also released yesterday, S02E01, and go to the end, it shows copyright 2020. The second season was filmed, not sure if entirely or partly, and then not released because of the George Floyd events. TV producers and networks scrambled to jump on the "Defunct the Police" bandwagon like a bunch of sheep, that's why shows like this and others were put on hold or cancelled. The others shows that were cancelled were Live PD and COPS. COPS which was in its 33rd season when it was cancelled in 2020, returned on the air in 2021 and is currently in its 36 season. Live PD which was in its 4th season when it was cancelled in 2020, returned on the air in 2023 as On Patrol Live and it's now in its 3rd season. |
