@PrivateCodex 99% of the files I download work fine. I don't know what a fps is and I wouldn't know which program to use to change it. But thanks, I will keep that in mind and do some research. |
@elsonroa as far as 1080p and external players are concerned, I don't know the reason. Usually this happens only with ultra HD rips which I learned to avoid. But I always fin another copy elsewhere. So don't worry. Thanks for your kindness. Cheers. |
@elsonroa here is some feedback you kindly asked. If you could start to put little higher quality sound to your posts, it would be a good beginning. Cheers. |
Ah, you are over-estimating me, my friend. I am just a smash-and-grab guy - I download what's on the iplayer; that's the sum of it. What I post is the best quality they offer. I agree the sound is often mushy. But I don't see a way around that. |
i'm sorry, which one is this? There is Wolf Hall, Bring Up the Bodies, and the latest of the trilogy is "Mirror and the Light". Each part of the trilogy is about 6 to 8 episodes. so which one is this? |
This is 'The Mirror and the Light' - that info was in the torrent description but I have added it to the main title. Thanks for the reminder. |
If I'm not mistaken, Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies together comprised the first TV season. This second series will be the last and is the screenplay of The Mirror and the Light. |
If the comments weren't so "filtered" we could recommand each other programs, external players etc. |
@Elsonroa I would like to give you feedback in details but my comments won't come through. |
Thanks, I do appreciate it. If you have feedback that would help me be a better uploader, do please send to elsonroa at tutanota dot com - i'm always glad to learn from someone who knows more than I do. |
Thanks. Unfortunately, the picture does not move properly on external players and the sound is very bad. |
Yes I think that's because it's 1080p - it plays fine for most, but a few people reported same problems with my upload of the Attenborough 'Asia' series. I'll upload a 720p version when the whole series is released. |
Many external players use codecs from a third party which may not support all formats or frame rates, as they are often outdated. Hardware decoding is also quite limited in external displays and players. Occasionally the manufacturer may provide a firmware update for the device with support for newer formats. |
If you are very lucky an update may improve playback. Some external players and displays do require the device to be connected to the internet to check for and install an update. Otherwise you need to check for an update using the correct model number of the device, then place the update on a USB drive to install. |
Typically to check for, or install updates, the option can be found in the device's Settings menu. |
@ElsonRoa Most 1080p work fine on external players. The problem is elswhere. |
Curious. It plays ok for me and I'd expect to get more feedback than yours if many people were experiencing problems. |
Bear in mind that untouched iPlayer rips like this are 50fps, perhaps your 'external player' does not properly support 1080p at 50fps. In which case you could reencode it to 25fps yourself, look for a reencoded version, or get the 720p version if Elson does one at some point. Just a thought! |
External players are always a bit touchy as they often have limited codec support. Try a HDMI cable, play the file with VLC to the external monitor and perhaps plug in some quality speakers to the display if you want better sound quality. This is good rip of a great series. Thanks. |
