Loved it! Super well done sets and aliens. The story is simple and sweet with lots of action. Best one since Alien vs. Predator [2004]. |
not really, the movie is lame, nothing happens, a childish emotional robot, this movie does not belong, it's nothing more than a cashgrab relying on the brand. |
A largely well implemented rehash of most of the better bits from the series - but nothing new and certainly NOT in the same league as the pure class of the original Alien film or the action packed excellent Aliens. Watched the 2160p sdr version which was a great encode. |
Out of curiosity I watched the original Alien movie, to compare. Turns out the original Alien movie hasn't aged that well. It has its scary moments, but it also has very clunky dialogue, poor special effects and overall slowness. Alien: Romulus is a welcome update on the formula, and does a lot of things better. |
It may do effects better as should be expected after that many years - but putting the story together and making use of the available effects ? Nahhh. |
The movie was horrible. Actors are all teenage angst children. The only adult actor was a throwback to the original in a desperate attempt to gain favor with a poorly constructed movie. 5/10 at best. |
A largely well implemented but 'credibility light' rehash of most of the keystone bits from the series - but nothing new and certainly NOT in the same league as the pure class of the original Alien film or the almost as good action packed Aliens. Watched the 2160p sdr version which was a great encode. |
The worst for me was also, if anyone noticed, 2/3 of the movie was a timespan of a half hour as there was a countdown of 45 minutes till impact. I don't understand how they can be so incompetent, like who wrote this script? chatGPT? |
movie was OK, i just didn't like that they used teenagers/young adults as the main cast; seems a bit silly that they're able to fly spaceships and stuff. also the British accents were kind of annoying |
Just to say there are no British accents, there are English, Scots, Irish, Welsh in many variations but a British accent is meaningless. And yes welcome back comments section was very quiet for a while! |
I wouldn't label this one as woke. Sure, it IS a cash grab, but so were tons of Alien comics. We can't complain about the final crew member being a girl: Ripley set the standard. Ethnicity wasn't pushed don our throat by the Wokehugger either, neither was the gender thing: the first to bite the bullet was the Asian tough chic, after all and the one black guy in this movie was the only one working hard on his acting. And not a single unicorn/rainbow on the motion sensor. The movie did rehash many alien tropes but not too badly. I certainly liked it more than Covenant even if that is putting the bar a bit low. I was only annoyed with one thing really: the character kept making stupid choices. After a while, some of these did pay but at the moment they were made, there was no y to know. |
