| Welcome back, TG. Disney is making a huge mistake, The Star Wars franchise was revived in the television format, after it was almost destroyed with the release of the so called "3rd trilogy" .The TV format can flesh out both the characters and story,were as films will be a hit or miss financially, outside the franchise's fan base. Case in point, The StarTrek franchise on paramount Strange New Worlds crafted and designed specifically for those fans of that universe who know the material, not necessarily newcomers to the universe. The show picks up new fans, but it's a success because it stay's true to the original concepts, which established the fan base in the 1st place. Disney sacrificed the Star Wars fan base by trying to reach a larger audience, at the expense of its core base.I really don't see how a Mandolorian movie,or any other Star Wars movie is going to be as successful as the TV format they established, going forward. I think that ship is already out to sea, with no port in sight. |
