DO NOT WATCH THE OFFICIAL TRAILER!!! - TALK ABOUT HORRENDOUS MARKETING!!! (Even worse than Long Legs) - About 1 minute into the trailer a blurb from a somebody who writes crappy reviews pops up on the screen and it reads " GO INTO THIS MOVIE BLIND...." HUH??? How am I supposed to do that when I am watching the trailer? Stupidest placement of a movie reviewer blurb I have ever seen. Just fire all of Hollywood and get some new thought processes! (No I turned off the trailer and I am going into it BLIND! |
Hello, does anyone know where I can find subtitles for HDCams? |
Barbara Hershey (Seagull) Been in love with her since I first saw her in Last Summer. She still looks beautiful for a woman in her late 70's . I'll give it a shot. Thank You TGxMovies and Thank You TG for not abandoning us. So glad to have you back. |
Ive seen a trailer for this, looks wild and interesting reminded me of Nick Cage in Wild At Heart or Christian Slater in True Romance kind of flavor. I'm lookin forward to seeing it when i quality copy pops up. |
not great, as it's a cam but it's not the worst either.. prob about the same as deadpool wolvie or a little worse but also gotta put up with the bookie ads bullshit and watermarks as usual. watchable if ya don't wanna wait. 6-7 on both audio/vid. |
Quality is satisfactory (given that its cam), and its kind of fun when you hear a few people laughing at comic scenes. Agree with others: just watch it fresh, without spoilers, just enjoy the ride. Fantastic actors. This film is like Hitchcock + Tarantino. |
check out a bunch of recent Kyle Gallner movies, they're awesome! at least the last few.. the passenger (thriller/horror), dinner in America (Punk Comedy), mother may I (Psych Horror), and I heard really good things about this movie from Red Letter Media, who are usually pretty spot on. Gallner's been on a pretty amazing acting run these last buncha films and I'm going to watch this just because he's in it! They are low budget fairly unique character driven Indies with solid scripts and pretty great acting, not by the numbers B-movies by any means.. I mean, I honestly really dug them, I watch a LOT of movies and they felt really kinda fresh.. your own enjoyment may vary of course but at least those others, especially The Passenger and Dinner in America are the kind of level of films we need more of out there in my opinion. I really hope this one continues the trend.. |
Ok. watched it. GREAT movie. I came for Gallner but Willa F stole the film with an AMAZING performance. it's a more atmospheric than plot heavy movie and a little up it's own ass but in a decently done way.. uncomfortable, unsettling in new ways... and even a bit subversively funny. Top Marks. don't watch trailer. |
it felt like a mix of Blue Velvet and a bit of Tarantino.. relentless, savage but well paced.. even when you know where it's going it still gets you as it's leading you there by your nose, playing you. I loved it. |
it's not. it's almost Lynch meets Tarantino (almost..) and Willa steals the freaking show.. wow! |
I love Lynch and Tarrantino and find those terrible comparisons personally, except for it being told out of order like Pulp Fiction. Just watch it, it's good and made the way it is for a reason. FWIW i think alot of the B movies have been more enjoyable than A films lately. |
it's a good comparison as film has elements of both without being a pastiche of either. yes, time stuff like all Tarantino also holding on person emoting awkwardly long is Lynch and a bit of Blue Velvet in there. plus the dialog and humor smacks of both too, it's not 1 to 1 but closest examples for quick impression. |
also, depends on your def of a B movie.. if just low budget. fair enough. for me, it's a "by the numbers" low budget movie that makes it a B movie but if it elevates itself through creativity and craft despite budget.. a movie like "Mandy" is a b movie revenge plot elevated by it's acting and filmmaking IMO. |
I do agree tho that smaller films have generally been a lot more enjoyable than the bigger so called block busters as of late.. we totally can agree on that. |
