Description:

Developed by id Software, and originally released in 1993, DOOM pioneered and popularized the first-person shooter, setting a standard for all FPS games. The critically acclaimed sequel, DOOM II, followed in 1994. Now the definitive, newly enhanced versions of DOOM   DOOM II are available as a combined product.

Included Content

Doom (1993) - Original Version
The demons came and the marines died...except one. You are the last defense against Hell. Prepare for the most intense battle you’ve ever faced. Experience the complete, original version of the game released in 1993, now with all official content and Episode IV: Thy Flesh Consumed.

Doom II – Original Version
Hell has invaded Earth, and to save it, you must battle mightier demons with even more powerful weapons. This beloved sequel to the groundbreaking DOOM (1993) introduced players to the brutal Super Shotgun, the infamous Icon of Sin boss, and more intense FPS action.

TNT: Evilution
The UAC relocated their experiments to one of the moons of Jupiter. A spaceship, mistaken for a supply vessel, was granted access. But when it got close to the base, demons poured out. All your comrades were slaughtered or zombified. This time it's not about survival. It's about revenge.

The Plutonia Experiment
Every effort has been made by the nation's top scientists to close the seven interdimensional Gates of Hell, but one portal remains open. Alone, you must infiltrate the ravaged base, defeat the demon Gatekeeper, and seal the last Hell portal before the undead take over the world.

Master Levels for DOOM II
This expansion includes twenty additional levels, all with the same hell-spawned horrors and action of the base game. Each level was created by independent designers and supervised by id Software.

Sigil
Created by id Software co-founder, John Romero, and released as an episode-sized mod consisting of 18 new maps, Sigil fits in between the timelines of DOOM (1993) and DOOM II. Baphomet, the gatekeeper of Hell, “glitched the final teleporter with his hidden sigil, whose eldritch power brings you to even darker shores of Hell. You fight through this stygian pocket of evil to confront the ultimate harbingers of Satan, then finally return to become Earth’s savior.”

Legacy of Rust
Created in collaboration by id Software, Nightdive Studios, and MachineGames, Legacy of Rust is the newest episode for DOOM, and the first official episode since DOOM II to feature new demons and weapons. This 16-map Episode is broken up into two 8 map sections: The Vulcan Abyss and Counterfeit Eden.

avatarzdoom vs this: Ran this install on win11 with masterlevels.wad vs zdoom with masterlevels.wad on I7 laptop with 1gb nvidia video card. Both ran fine @1920x1080p although with this version the fan was working overtime and the laptop was getting hot in busy bits. Under zdoom - ran faster and was barely getting warm. Graphics *may be very slightly better running under this than zdoom although IF they are - its a small difference. Under zdoom on win7 64 the same wad run fine on i7 or an old dual core intel running at the screen max of 1440x900 - but latter does get warm. With zdoom you get the full range of customisable controls inc fly, jump and swim with suitable wads. Just grab the wads and play them under zdoom.

avatarTo run just select the wad and open with zdoom.exe. You will then have to select the appropriate sdoom 'built in' core wad as zdoom starts - usually the doom II.wad. It will then run with the 'new wad from this pack. To set higher resolutions - options: set video mode: aspect ratio = all

avatarOk, installed this on a 3rd gen i7 laptop with 1 gb nvidia card and it ran @1920 flawlessly - wouldn't run on very up to date win7 64 (as above) - but played without issue on win11 on same muti-boot laptop. It is a very nice implementation. Is it better that zdoom with high res wads (which runs on almost anything)? - well yep - but not much. Will I play this version some more? - hell yes. Massive TY to megastar fitgirl. Might dig out one of older laptops, install late version win764 with VC++ 2015 runtimes if and see if it runs.

avataractually after playing it for an hour zdoom is still a far superior implementation. Graphics on this are better but controls and gameplay options are limited and frustrating eg older players use arrow keys and mouse - but arrow keys when used for movement cant be disconnected from map movement so this only on 1 machine

avatarFurther update, although the graphics are good (need to look at how to get the wads to work with zdoom just dropping them in dir didnt work) the control/key configurations seem to have loads missing. Game play is fun but overall little if any better than zdoom which doesn't need such high spec hardware and runs cooler

avatarSeriously - those minimum hardware requirements? FFS. I ran doom on a 486 laptop and still run them both and UT on an old dual core laptop with 3GB ram. Fitgirls work is epic but surely those requirements are way OTT.

avatarThe min sys requirements for such an ancient (but groundbreaking) game are indeed ridiculous, but it's not the fault of the repack obviously. The bloated kex engine is to blame, but you can always extract the original Doom I+II WADs and play them with any modern source port like Chocolate, GZ etc.

avatartried install on win7 64 despite saying win10/11 but sadly after OK install - no go: -api-ms-win-eventing-classicprovider-l1-1-0 missing. Downloaded dll and dropped in install dir - but still no go. :(

avatarwidespread issue with win7 and VC++ 2015 runtime not installing properly or at all in some cases. other versions of VC++ runtimes seem to install fine on same machines
