Most comedy thrives on the contrast between our belief that we can control our bodies, words, and relationships, and the messy reality that often proves otherwise. This essence lies at the core of this fun comedy. What might have been a sentimental and gloomy tale transforms into an entertaining narrative that captivates the viewer. At 95 years old, June Squibb embodies Thelma, the character deceived out of $10,000, determined to reclaim it. Her quest for justice drives the film, involving tasks like securing transportation, obtaining a gun, conducting basic detective work and dealing with feisty roaches. Along the way, she interacts with talented actors adept in physical comedy, such as Parker Posey and the Fred Hechinger, who shines as her grandson. The comedy maintains an great pace, and the script deftly avoids demeaning the elderly or underestimating their abilities. In the CAM recording, there are a few instances where the screen briefly turns black, particularly in the early moments of the film. |
Bravo I can't wait for a clean copy so I can enjoy this properly |
Outstanding review. @jaxe: take note. This is how it's done. |
Pretty good movie about half way through. Cam score: 7.5/10. Decent sound and video. Ads of course. Thx. |
Just to warn, cam is missing some of the ending, not sure how much though. Also, 3 mins in or so they cover the cam lens for a good minute on a non-important scene. |
Seen a few trailers for this, and it looks promising, but the cam does cut out a few times as mentioned by the Original Poster. I am waiting on a decent copy being released and hopefully it won't be too long. |
Granny June Squibb is 94 years old and she rocks! it's a miracle to see someone of her age using internet. How dare you to scam this lady! bunch of punks! she just wanted a new edge of glory, her grandson Anthony was selling it on national TV! and she called to the wrong number and gave her facebook password to a "friend". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDmcL3LBEo4 The Real Edge of Glory https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8GFul9JNjI The Real Anthony Sullivan on TV Thanks galaxyguys the trailer is hilarious and looks genuinely funny, I'll watch. June Squibb is amazing. She is such a funny, provocative actress. I feel bad for people who haven't discovered her yet. This sounds like it is going to be hilarious and fun!!!! I don't remember if we can post links or not, hopefully we are, but if you don't know who this actress is, here is a great scene from her Oscar winning movie "Nebraska" just to give you an idea. https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=fa7e047796e4e12eJmltdHM9MTcxOTAxNDQwMCZpZ3VpZD0wMGNhZmNiMy01ZTMwLTYyNDEtM2EyOS1lOGMxNWZiYTYzOTgmaW5zaWQ9NTY5MA&ptn=3&ver=2&hsh=3&fclid=00cafcb3-5e30-6241-3a29-e8c15fba6398&u=a1L3ZpZGVvcy9yaXZlcnZpZXcvcmVsYXRlZHZpZGVvP3E9anVuZStzcXVpYmIrZ3JhdmUrc2NlbmUrbmVicmFza2EmbWlkPTkzNEQ1MzUzMUE5MDQ0ODg5MUJBOTM0RDUzNTMxQTkwNDQ4ODkxQkEmRk9STT1WSVJF&ntb=1 |
