Uh... isn't this almost exactly the plot of the TV Series "From"? |
Does 'From' have a plot? It just treads narrative water endlessly, like 'Lost' did, never actually moving forward in a meaningful way. |
thanks for making this available. it saved me the disappointment of seeing it in the cinema. i hope she doesn't make more movies. |
This is the first thing that came to my mind as well, the moth man, silence of the lambs is one of my favorite movies, all Hannibal franchise are perfection, including the series with Mads Mikkelsen. Thawne |
interesting - i didn't make that connection. this poster reminds me of blair witch. i will say, however, that silence of the lambs has one of my favorite posters. it rewards you for looking closely with the dali hommage. |
To truly grasp THE WATCHERS, brace yourself for a script that initially meanders before delivering a trademark Shyamalan-esque twist. The movie tells the story of 4 people trapped in a “coup” in a forest. Each night they stand facing a mirrored wall and basically perform for a studio audience of creatures. These creatures appear during the night and skitter to burrows at daybreak. Not everything works here – the script is muddled in various layers of folklore making it hard to follow.. Trying to follow the various narrative elements can become frustrating. Shyamalan maintains a steady pulse with the pace of the film and is great at creating ominous spaces around the creatures. She refrains from gore and jump scares, the story is more psychological in nature. The final 10 minutes will provide answers, it’s getting there that may be problematic. NOTE: There are voice over ads and multiple screen ads that make watching the movie very frustrating. |
@IGotYourDogMr Your synopsis makes me want to watch it, plus I quite like Dakota. I quit watching CAMs years ago, for me they ruin a good movie copy because you already know whats going to happen. I would rather force myself to wait for a great copy. |
Hey, darcman, you and I have a lot in common with our taste in movies. Though you might want to know that I loved this one when I saw it in the theatre! Has an excellent ambience/overall vibe and a superb twist. |
Enjoyed it more than expected. The storyline felt reasonable (for what it is) up until the end. I feel like they tried to throw in a few too many unexpected twists and turns. The first three-quarters was good, but one or two WTF moments take away from the momentum. Wish I had waited to see it in HD. Thanks for the upload. |
"urging Mina to run to a concrete bunker"...Why not urge Mina to run to a cabin. She is in the forest. |
forest => cabin --it's almost logical |
Director is Night Shyamalan's kid ,this should be an interesting watch . Lets hope she have a need for a twist in all her movies . |
Not proof read. It is entertaining to hear this peanut gallery discuss the merits of a “Shyamalan” film. Please this thread was intended to post quality and watchability not try to explore ‘poorly’ and n the process ruin the film? Is it watchable? |
Dakota Fanning makes it a "must watch" for me, 'though I'll wait for a real release, (I never watch cams). Can't stand her sister but I love her. This is one time I have to repudiate jaxe's opinion. |
I've just watched and the watchers 2024 is a good movie, tbh I started with low expectations but turned out to be much better than expected, I won't give spoilers but horror just no! forget about it, but thriller 60% and mystery/suspense 40% they made it right. I liked it and I recommend it, definitely a solid 7/10. Unfortunately there isn't horror but thriller and suspense at it finnest with a low budget and not many people in the cast which wasn't a problem at all.
