Thank you as always TGx for getting this out to us, as always it is much appreciated! A/V=10/10..5 stars above Genres = Horror, Thriller, Sci-Fi, Comedy(Horror) M=5.5 While the movie was done fairly well, it had a decent cast so the acting was good as well as the directing, etc. It did remind me of other movies or especially books that are extremely well done, and give you a much better depiction of what the topic entails. With that in mind, I'm not going to stay the movie wasn't off the beaten path for entertainment, and the topic has been covered on various films which make it tough to compare this one too. Having said that, if I start listing off 10 films, you may or may or not agree, which I'd be happy to provide but the idea is to provide a fair review of the movie at hand. It is difficult to not allow some of the other movies enter your mind, and "compare" them! Contagion, The Book of Eli, are just a couple I'm going to whip out, just thinking for one second, and not much thought, but these films imho you watch if you haven't already, and compare to this one! You'll come back and perhaps give this an M= a score lower than I did! It's tough at times to watch(have watched) a better film, read a book. So, you ask do I believe the M=6.8 will hold up, absolutely not...not enough ratings, which if it had 2k ratings, it will come down to M=5-5.5 in that range, as a guesstimate? I do think the movie is worth a watch, for those who did like movies like the two I did mention, or the topic on reducing Human Population(and they'll be all sorts of ways to do it). Let me not throw any plot spoilers from the movie in, but check it out, it's good! Have a Fantastic Friday & Fabulous weekend everyone, RT!:) |
Thank you for you review! I look forward to seeing more of your comments. It is refreshing to see a review that talks about the movie itself (pros and shortcomings) and does not devolve into complaining about seeing a woman or minorities in the film. |
Any women or minorities in this film? |
@Corrado - Why does/should that matter? If the movie is good how it is should be the only thing that matters. You WOKE people are fucking everything up in this world! |
This is a refreshing review. The book of eli, I remember that. I may download this. So many dead comments on this site, was not expecting such a unique and personal review. |
This movie was a generic, poorly executed "bottle episode". If you want better dystopia, save your time and watch ==ANY== episode of "Black Mirror", or "Love, Death & Robots" |
Watching @Lucixir (who prides himself in being "anti-woke") attack @Corrado (also "anti-woke") for asking if there are any women or minorities in the film so he (Corrado) can avoid watching it is hilarious. They are so rabid about hating women and minorities that they attack their ilk for even saying the words. |
You mean: Based on true story of launching so called Covid 19 "Vaccines" |
"launching Covid 19" Let me guess, you get all of your news from Putin's propaganda machine. |
@sake500 Don't worry Covid 19 was the prototype uncle Bill was just testing the world, now is the real problem with the new virus X/new pandemic but this time things are going to be messy. Remember what was written on Georgia Guidestones - Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature. Thawne |
Thawne, you absolute boomer moron. What does the Georgia Guidestones have to do with anything other than some rich guy's monument to his beliefs back in the '80s? And the Bill Gates conspiracies are so laughable, watch actual news for once instead of your braindead conservative outlets. |
At this point, people pretending to be crazy for the LULZ now blend in perfectly with the people actually crazy. Also, why not make a gratuitous Big Mike reference?? |
This movie goes from interesting philosophical discussion to Battle Royale in the space of 30 minutes! 10/10 A/V |
Interesting premise and pretty good cast. I'm going to give it a try. TY |
People saying things like: "there is too many people on earth and we have to do something" should make an example of themselves and stop bothering the rest. |
"What do you think of euthanasia?" "I imagine they're much like the youth here." |
" In the wake of an environmental collapse that has forced humanity to shed 20% of its population..." comments to come should be interesting, can you say predictive programming? Kind of reminds me of 'Contagion' . |
A true "Romeo and Juliet" story that leads to 80% positive reviews and soylent green chips for everyone still breathing. Yum! |
Another one of horror director David Cronenberg's children following in his footsteps. This is her first full length feature film directing gig. Her older brother Brandon directed Infinity Pool (2023) and Possessor (2020). Her older sister was assistant director on American Psycho, Rated X, Gossip and eXistenZ and trainee assistant director on her father's film Naked Lunch and Crash. |
"weird"? Toronto CAMH uses a different terminology. |
@ CostaBr33ze - Do you "fuckin" know them personally? A persons art does not make the person. The downfall of society just with that comment. |
@Guest-3234 - Over-react much geez?! What a fkn drama queen! |
@Guest-3234 Psychology may use their art to understand what's happening up there. |
@Guest-3234: Psychology uses a person's art to gain insight |
At junior school we were told to draw an angel and I drew a Devil What insight did that give the school psychologist |
And the 80% won't care about the 20% that is killed off Just so long as it doesn't affect them |
i watched it last night, and I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it. |
