Can't believe they remade Shirley Temple as a black woman. Wokeness has gone too far! |
Stop it with that misused word. But of course you are probably MAGA and think America was great in the 30's. |
No wonder y'all getting confused thinkin' it Shirley Bassey who is like the only famous black woman in existence called Shirley |
@guest3928 Maybe you can invite the migrants and looters to come stay with you. Go sleepy Biden go. |
Guest-3928 - Actually 'MAGA' folks only want the country to get to a point where they feel like they can get a fair chance at bettering their lives without having the government steal from them to give to third world benefit grifters on the low end and corporate welfare on the high end. |
@darcman Better yet, you can invite the Tucker's shilling for Putin and MAGA mad hatters hoping a dictator will save them to your house for Thanksgiving. |
@Guest-2543 That made absolutely no sense. Is this really how pathetically weak their comebacks are now? |
@G2543 I will make Thanksgiving a pot luck dinner...I bet they bring stuff they bought with their hard earned money. Biden and the wokesters let the migrants in and now they are robbing America blind. Biden and wokesters = thieving migrants, Trump and magasters = a secure border...which one would you choose??? |
Well dm, I'll still vote, but my wife and I moved to Canada sooner than live with the possibility of another term by that lying animal, or live near people with your attitudes. So it'll come as no surprise that we don't quite see things the way you do |
I am sorry but I will die not accepting woman having wives and men having husbands. However ss long as you dont shove it in my face, I dont care what you do. As for the migrants, just take a look at New York...omg its bad, really bad. You think Biden is going to get reelected over the migrant crisis??? |
Hi.. I posted the original comment as a joke. I'm guessing some people on this site are super serious like the guy who said I'm a MAGA whatever that means and that I think america was great in the 30s. LOL What does that even mean. Are some people on this website mentally ill, if so I'm sorry! |
A-10 V-9 Thanks for the upload! Well directed, well acted, well produced. |
When Reagan was the prez, I voted for Shirley Chisholm, He caught the vapors |
public servants are more than likely in it for number 1 themselves and because they are black does not make them better Obamas portfolio was 10 fold bigger when his term ended and that is his only real acheivement. so no, historical movies based on FRIENDS recolection is fictitious at best. |
You can't possibly be a nice guy or gal and get anywhere never mind the top in politics, the dirtiest of dirtiest games Stands to reason |
I'd say the Affordable Care Act was his real achievement. His net worth increase came from royalties due to his award winning books and grammy winning audiobooks. We know this because he released all his tax returns to the public and it matches up with sales figures from the publishing houses. |
Dunno We'd say Obamaphones were Obama's greatest achievement |
Affordable care just means that someone can 'afford' it Even if only the Obama's could afford it it would still count as 'affordable' |
@Guest-2774 Fun fact! "ObamaPhones" were initiated by Ronald Reagan and should properly be called "ReaganPhones." |
Two thumbs up on anything Regina King is in!! She's awesome. The way she reached out to comfort Jimmy Kimmel last night was so sweet. |
Thank you for this great movie. Been looking forward and now I have the opportunity to watch it. Great woman, the first Afro-American who was going for the presidency of the U.S. of A. For the clowns: and yes, Shirley Temple also was a big supporter of Shirley Chisholm. |
ok. fwiw though, temple did run (unsuccessfully) for congress. if she'd won, her time in the house likely would have overlapped with chisholm's. (s.t. ran in '66 and s.c. was elected in '68) temple did become a u.s. ambassador though and she advocated on behalf of the czech velvet revolution. |
Oh my, I just read a quick summary of Temple's biography... and to think I would gladly of imprisoned her for life just for singing "Tomorrow" Alternatively, Chisholm's career was nothing short of amazing, AND she wasn't one of the worst child-singers ever to open her mouth |
We've seen that a brown skinned president can do same bad job as a pale skinned one. I tend to believe that a woman wouldn't behave much different. What I thing is worrisome, would be an islamic US president; think about it; Islam is reproducing strong |
I'm from NYC, I remember when she ran. For the ignorant, it was a protest vote in response to Nixon seeking a 2nd term. Professor Cornell West is attempting to do something similar, only his campaign could have a real effect on the Biden attempt to seek a 2nd term, due to to his handling of the Gaza genocide |
As the Gazan population has more than doubled in the last 20 years, and Gazans themselves are not culturally, religiously or ethnically different from Jordanians (or hundreds of millions of other Arab Muslims), it's the worst excuse for a 'genocide' in history (and you clearly haven't read any). |
Wrong: Gaza population 2000-2005 1.13m to 1.31m; 2023 2.1m, projected estimate for 2025 2.18m (https //www statista com/ statistics/1422981/gaza-total-population/). So, as opposed to reading history and misrepresenting it you mean? |
"According to various sources, the population growth rate in Gaza Strip is high, with an annual growth rate of 1.99%, the 39th-highest in the world. In 2005, the Gaza Strip had a population of 1.4 million, according to the OCHA report. In 2024 the estimated population of the Gaza Strip is 2.226 million." No genocide. |
So, with a population of 1.4 million (sic) in 2005, in order to have "more than doubled in the last 20 years" -- according to your own numbers -- the population of Gaza would have to have exceeded 2.8 million people by 2025; not the 2.226 million you currently claim. |
There is a good documentay on the middle east conflict called Occupation 101...its real eye opener. So much of the news on the conflict is highly censored and edited that most people, especially Americans have no idea what goes on over there. |
Yes, I got that number wrong (I was looking further into the past). The meaningful point is that the Gazan population has not been subject to genocide. Nor has the Gaza Strip been occupied since 2005. |
darcman this may be the only occasion I am absolutely 100% in agreement with every word of your last post |
Mixed reviews on this, but of course an important and interesting subject and talented cast makes this a "must try". TY! |
I'm with ya I like some historical dramas. Will give it a shot thx Galaxy! |
Just call the movie 'Shirley' like anyone has ever heard of Shirley Chisholm Bassey - Yes Temple - Yes but Chisholm Was that the old lady who lived across the street when we were kids Had a walking aid |
Imagine seeing a cover 'TRUMP' then learning it was a about a guy you'd never heard of who drove the school bus |
Thought it was a bio-pic of Shirley Bassey - what a BIG VOICE for a Lady only 5′ 3″ (1.60 m). And "Good looking, so refined". There is a bio-pic about her - Shirley (2011) - unable to find. |
