Thank you GalaxyRG . This was a fascinating movie with an all-round excellent cast. I particularly enjoyed Liv Lisa Fries as Anna Freud, her performance was excellent. They chose to portray Ms. Freud as a lesbian (yes, one of the -- currently estimated in the United States -- 7% LGBTQ+ population), and whilst it is true that she had a life-long partnership with Dorothy Burlingham, both women denied a sexual relationship. Historians of psychoanalysis may guess at their relationship, but they will never know for certain. Much like how we'll never know the exact skin complexion of historical figures like Cleopatra. But -- as we've seen in these very pages -- such things make for entertaining talking points in modern movie narratives. Of course Anthony Hopkins and Matthew Goode carried this movie with thoroughly engaging dialogue and performances. This was a great idea, mixed with skillful writing, direction, and acting -- a truly engrossing 108 minutes. Thanks again GalaxyRG, very much appreciated |
Either something is engrossing, or it isn't. Truly. |
Truly, honestly, deeply Wasn't that another movie? |
Truly Madly Deeply Hmm.. gets decent reviews. I'll give it a go. Thanks! |
Great! Fast dl with subs to be found right here :-) Thanks again for the heads up. |
lmfao you spent 70% of your comment talking about gender somehow and the other 30 about anything else. are you guys obsessed with this matter or what? |
7957, I think you’re confusing gender with sexuality, which is — if you watch the movie — very pertinent to Freud & Lewis’ discourse throughout. Plus, I was — if you look at some of the other comments — taking a little swipe elsewhere. But it was an easy mistake to make if you weren’t paying attention |
lololz! nice, try, dude! the wannabe mental gymnastics are astounding! lol (not in a good way ! ) The w0k3 are angry and filled with a bizarre hatred that ony the other w0k3 understand! You jumping through hoops here to bend over backwards (see: cleopatra) to try to explain away the narcissism is hiarious! |
A simple premise with a lot of promise. Before Dr. Freud's death, a gentleman from Oxford came down to visit with him. The film then portrays a dramatization of the conversation between Dr. Sigmund Freud and Dr. C. S. Lewis at the onset of yet another war, barely 20 years after the end of the Great War. What happens next is two hours of conversation between the two men where they debate theology, sexuality and science when the world was at the brink of destruction. |
Freud, another juice twisted mind that led us to this clown world |
I will watch a movie just to see Anthony Hopkins. One of the Greatest Actors of all time. He can carry an entire movie or tv show by himself. |
Nice attempt, but quite shallow considering the caliber of the protagonist. It uses the same cheesy lines an "atheist" is trying to convince (himself first) the others that the Lord Jesus Christ/Creator does not exist and C.S. Lewis who wrote so GREAT books regarding the demons' inspiration to humankid, speaks like a 10 years old boy. If you REALLY want to hear a DEMON speaking with humanity backed-up with EXCELLENT and CORRECT theology in terms of Christianity-Fallen Angels-Heaven/Hell, you have to do a FAVOR to yourself and watch the simple but AMAZING movie "Nefarious (2023)". Eternity is a destination for all of us, wanted or not, but those who are properly prepared will enjoy it eternally. https://torrentgalaxy.to/torrent/15553997/Nefarious-2023-1080p-BluRay-1400MB-DD5-1-x264-GalaxyRG |
Nefarious masquerades as horror but is nothing more than christian/religious propaganda made by the same proselytizing filmaker who produced God's Not Dead. Watch either of these two films if you're into magical thinking |
2205, Completely agree about Nefarious, but when you said "either of these two films", if you meant to include this one rather than "God's Not Dead" (which I haven't seen), I'd say that "Freud's Last Session" doesn't really deserve to be quite so casually dismissed. |
Wow. Anthony Hopkins is giving Nic Cage a run for his money. |
Horrible take. Mainly because Anthony Hopkins had a good career and didn't ever had to star in horrible action, scifi or horror films. |
Dunno He was once reduced to playing a crazy motel owner in B-movie Psycho the 1960s cinematic flop |
"Dunno He was once reduced to playing a crazy motel owner in B-movie Psycho the 1960s cinematic flop " So much wrong there.... |
Bro did you just compare Anthony Hopkins to Nic Cage? I don't know what you're smoking but I want some. |
"his lesbian daughter Anna". Yup, meticulously curated plotline to pander to the 3%. Or is it 1? Anyways passing on this 'strong' contendor for next years oscars. |
Yes I have watched the L Word and only because Alexandra Owens was in them. |
Oooh, Flashdance reference there Mr. J. I had to look up "Alexandra Owens" though -- 1983 was 9 years before I was even born |
FLASHDANCE defined how movies were made for the remaining of the 1980s. It was also the first box office hit for young producers Don Simpson (RIP 1996) and Jerry Bruckheimer who went on the produce dozens of Hollywood hits. Many of the top movies and TV series in past 25 years are Jerry Bruckheimer productions |
I’d seen it, but didn’t remember the character’s name… Mr. J., sometimes I get pi$$y with your comments in these sections, and you & I both get downvoted by some just for the sake of it, but if you opened up a trivia forum it’d be so d@mn popular we’d all be there with you babes |
Its considered fashionable nowdays to stuff woke theme into every movie now? |
A proper Anthony movie that isn't Zionist propaganda. fantastic film, bravo |
I totally get where you are coming from, in light of the current genocide that is happening. |
The daughter was a lesbian in real life it's not a swap, haven't seen it yet so can't say if it's full of lib propaganda. |
I bet you never really watched The L Word Mr. J You should have, it was a great show, and so were all of the spin-offs ("The Real L Word" and "Gen Q" etc). I'll bet you'd have loved them really. They're available on TGx, give them a try |
