Plot:
Brisbane, 1985: a lost father, a mute brother, a junkie mum, a heroin dealer for a stepfather and a notorious crim for a babysitter. It's not as if Eli Bell's life isn't complicated enough already.  | First few eps are great, the last few, not so much including the climax which I thought turned out to be a dud after the story picked up the pace in the middle. The Catelyn character is the appendix in the plotline, serving no real function other than token inclusivity. The drastic change in the lead character after the time jump of 4 years seems too ridiculous to be credible since his brother remains unaffected by the timelapse. Ok show, would have been great if not for the bland ending that failed to live up to the build up. |
