 | Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij show that they can write good young adult content, luckily this time Brit left the lead role to someone under thirty and accepted a lesser role, giving us a better show. And thank god there is no ridicule dance stopping school shootings this time. Hope they learned their lesson, because it was a good concept, ruined by a ridicule stunt and bad choice for a lead. |

| Britt and her husband have been exploring some pretty interesting philosophical ideas that are not Western in nature. The OA was probably the Pinnacle of such an interesting concept about what is real or how reality could be manipulated if you just understood that thoughts, movements and sounds could somehow open a doorway or even change reality itself. Really interesting I'm not entirely sure it's great TV or even great movie making but it's interesting. This idea basically started in a film which her and her husband did called the sound of my own voice. That was a really interesting precursor to the OA which then expanded on the original concept of what is real could you ever Define it could it be changed and a whole host of other philosophical Concepts. I do think that marlin was miscast in the OA and so that made it a little bit more complicated to follow but the whole idea is very hindu metaphysical if that's what I'm really thinking? Without getting into some sort of debate over the Internet about it the whole thing's kind of interesting and I'm not really sure what any of it means but rather it's just entertaining television but it does have some deep philosophical points which are not generally discussed in mainstream media. |

| "Really interesting"? Not really. Maybe "interesting". You might find yourself enticed by that, but it's not gonna be interesting for way too many others. That's part of what killed The OA. It's nice to go to some unexplored path, but if you make your way to there in such a ridicule way, not many will follow you. |

| I watched The OA, despite the ridicule dancing, because it had a good story behind that. But it was obvious that not many others will do it. The second season it's so much better because they left that aside, not entirely but almost, and many people didn't come back because of the bad choices of S01 |
