Nadia, a young mother married to a jealous man, goes to Huda's salon in Bethlehem, for a haircut and an attentive ear. But this ordinary visit turns sour when Huda, after having put Nadia in a shameful situation, blackmails her to have her work for the secret service. As Nadia escapes the salon, that same night, Huda is arrested by Hasan. They find nameless pictures of all the women Huda recruited, including Nadia's.  | Watched it. In the initial minutes of Huda's Salon, a woman enters a salon to get her hair cut and something happens so surprising and shocking. The film centers around the 3 people in Salon and how each one handles the situation. The director Abu-Assad is focused on the progression of scenes, there is no idle chit-chat or drifting off topic. The film is set in Bethlehem. The narrative explores how she goes about collecting information and the extent she is willing to go for information. Most of the film, and the most interesting are scenes of Huda and the operative questioning her. Huda is a force to be reckoned. The movie is well paced and keeps your attention. subtitles are in English. |
